    Moving from 996c4s to 996tts

    Hello all, I currently drive a 2003c4s with a x51 and gemballa exhaust. I'm thinking of moving on and purchasing a second hand porsche approved 2005 996tts with 20k. My main concern is the pccb brakes. I go on about 10 track days a year and always break hard so will my brake maintenance cost increase substantially? Would they be second generation pccb on this model? Is the second generation pccb reliable? Thanks.

    2005 have the 2nd gen PCCB which addressed the frailty issue of first gen. If the rest of the car checks out, I wouldn't worry about it. If it does cause you problems down the line, just replace the rotors with steel ones at that time...maybe get an extended warranty for some peace of mind.

    I had an '05 turbo S and took it to the track. No problems if you do a proper cool-down lap. Congratulations on the purchase.

    What would you recommend as a proper cool down procedure? I see your from Bahrain, I'm in Dubai and use the Autodrome every chance I get. Have you been on any track days here. There is one the 9th of February.

    If we're using the F1 curcuit, I'd do a slow cool-down lap trying not to touch the brakes. If we're using the smaller ClubSport curcuit, I'd do two cool-down laps, park, let it idle for a couple of minutes and shut it down without engaging the parking brake. I've never been to the Dubai Autodrome, just to the BIC here.

    Why mention the parking brake? FYI... the parking brake is a separate drum and has no relation to the disk brakes.
