I've visited the Ferrari showroom in NY city several times to view the red 599 on display and I wish they hadn't followed the styling of the 612. (IMO) it just doesn't offer the same kind of visually exciting style of the 360/430/550 etc.
Yes, the technical/performance credentials still make me want to own one but they could have done better.

When I was ordering my last 360 Spider, I initially decided on these colors Grigio Alloy with a creme interior (the only one that really works with the alloy exterior). Fortunately, while in a restaurant the exact color combo I ordered pulled up in front and my jaw dropped. It looked too feminine and I immediately changed the color combo.

Even 612 isn't that bad, especially in dark colours. But sure it's not the best Ferrari design though.

Yet it was also a huge leap forward from the 456 IMO. And although I do like the 599 design, the 550 Maranello is looking better and better to me every day

The Maranello definetely has a great, clean design. It could become a classic as their first frontengined GT after the midengined era, just as in case of the Testarossa as the last midengined car.

IMHO..ferrari got it absolutely perfect with the F430.. a rare combination of stunningly simple shapes and lines, giving the car an updated and modern feel whilst retaining an 'essence' of 360; presumably to preserve the distinct feeling of Ferrari lineage. I think that the 599 is too much of a departure from this stylistic theme and besides looking quite nice from the front (stunning in black methinks), from the rear it's a hyundai coupe in disguise! Although I wouldn't fault that 620hp engine though...

I would love all of that power and technology in the prettiest mid-engined car (excluding F40 & F50 supercars) Ferrari has made.I have high hopes for the completely new 430 replacement.

I saw the 599 in the "metal" in December and could not believe how big it was! I don't know the exact dimensions but it looked like it was a bit of Porker if you know what I mean!
The 612 is getting popular here in Japan - Ferrari seem to have a huge surplus of stock - there is no waiting period, a massive car. The only current Ferrari for me would be the 430.

Best 12 cylinder design for ferrari is the TR. They should try an update of that, the 599 and 612 have terrible looking fronts and the 599 is too busy. I am talking about the exterior.
The interior's are fantastic, but those evil wheels have to go.
I would like to see other great cars photographed at that location in front of the Avenue restaurant from a higher, wider angle. That is a nice looking place.
