    The GT3 cost less, looks better and go faster...I don't get the point of this Cayman!

    why would anybody choose the CR-42 over the GT3 is a mystery to me. More expensive, less residual value, less performance...

    You do have something unique with the 9ff, but I would never take it over the GT3 for all the reasons said before And it must have no resale value...

    997 GT3:

    Empty weight acc. to DIN = 1,395kg
    Empty weight acc. to EC (DIN + 75 kg driver) = 1,470kg

    997 GT3 RS:

    Empty weight acc. to DIN = 1,375kg
    Empty weight acc. to EC (DIN + 75 kg driver) = 1,450kg

    ...according to Porsche.

    I actually like the 9ff cayman!Finally a model without that ugly front... now they put it at the rear where it actually looks good... choose some better rims, and you have a unique car!

    It's mid engine, so a different beast. The point I take away from those numbers is simply that straight line acceleration is similar. How the cars do in the twisties and around tracks is something you have to experience and decide which you prefer.

    actually straight line performnance isn't similar. the 997 just got a better start. but if you look beyond the start phase, means normal driving, the cayman is quicker 100-200 kmh :-)
    this is necessary because the gt3 has better brakes (ceramic) but if you would also choose the pccb, the cayman would totally outperform the gt3 on track.

    Is the acceleration difference due to the Cayman having lower gear ratios thereby being longer gears?
