    German Flag colors

Went to a driving event today in Dallas and brought my 97 SY Turbo S. My son came up with the idea of lining the cars up like the colors in the German flag. The black was a 6 speed, the red car was a tiptronic. Enjoy.

    Re: German Flag colors

Nice picture. Did you notice what wheels were on the red car (or get any more shots of it) ?

    Beautiful 993, BTW !

Champion Motorsports, see my next post

    Enjoy

    Another from the rear

    Good looking trio.

    One more

    Frontal shot.

    Re: German Flag colors

    They look like Champion Motorsports.....

    Re: German Flag colors

    Nice pics...

    Re: German Flag colors

    I'll take one of each..............

    Re: German Flag colors

    ill take the yellow one:)

    Re: German Flag colors

I'd take that Turbo S for sure...

    Re: German Flag colors

The turbo S is the best. Love the yellow.

    Re: German Flag colors

Great shot thanks ... would love to see the wheels on the red car on the black one .

    Re: German Flag colors

awesome pics....... that 993 still holds its own next to the 997's. Impressive

    Re: German Flag colors

Nice idea...it would surely have stirred up some emotions over here during the Football World Championship.

Btw: why did the red 997 Turbo get different rims? The OEM ones look much better in my opinion.
I agree, the 993 Turbo S on the picture looks great, not a bit outdated. But it isn't as fast as the 997 Turbo I'm afraid, unless modified.

It may not be as fast as the new Turbo, but the 993 Turbo S has a presence that shadows the new car beginning with the exhaust note, I grew up hearing the wonderous sound of those air cooled engines, curb appeal, etc. There is no high tech plastic, sharp edeges to the metal pressings etc. With only 182 produced, and 6k miles, I have been offered more for my 97 Turbo S than you can buy a new turbo for. My Speed Yellow 997TT is in production now, and I should have it in a month. I'll bet, based on my driving experience this weekend, that I don't keep it a year. The new car feels sterile compared to the 97. On the subject of quickness, you're right, the new Turbo will be in the bone yard or a member of the out of date club much quicker than my 993 Turbo S, just like the 996. Another overproduced commodity.

    Re: German Flag colors

The smaller size of the 993 gives it a much more tossable character and a sense that you are wearing the car, rather than sitting just in it (some don't like that feeling but I do...)

One of the many attributes I really like. I recently met a local Porsche owner at a Starbucks. He drove his beautiful Fayence Yellow Carrera GT to meet me and look at each others cars. He wants a yellow Turbo S for his collection. His car was gorgeous. I felt really bad though as a group of young boys, probably 8-10 years of age, walked right past his car and pointed to mine and said, "Look Mom, a Porsche".

One more for you 993 Turbo S fans

    Enjoy.

Re: One more for you 993 Turbo S fans

Yes, I really hope porsche goes back to the 993's design elements in its next generation, much like detroit is using it's classics as inspiration for many of it's upcoming models.

The 997 did go more retro with the round lights and interior but the shape is still the same as the 996. I hope the next generation is totally new and continues that retro trend,

Re: One more for you 993 Turbo S fans

I think P is more focused upon cleaning up the cars aerodynamically. They are significantly cleaner and everything they do is pointed toward that. It's a bit of a shame. There is nothing quite like the look of a 993TT S!

ow man, that "S" is so beautiful... a dream on wheels!

No problem, I love those wheels (both with and without bolts) and I noticed the difference when I was imagining them on my future turbo. So many choices.
BTW , Are they light ?

    Re: German Flag colors

Yes very, I don't have the exact weight of the wheels however. I checked Champion's website, they don't have it either. www.championmotorsport.com
