    Just Got the News - Mine is coming JULY!!!

    Just had some great news. Up until today i had no idea when my Turbo was coming, not even whether it was gonna be this year or next. Got phone call today that it is July build. Apparently there is a hold up with Tips and as my order was for a manual I got slotted in. Have had to change colour from Meteor Grey though as not possible to have that colour so soon.

    My spec is:
    GT Silver
    Black Leather
    Sports Chrono
    Adaptive Sports Seats
    Heated Seats
    Rear Park Assist
    Headrest Crests
    Sunroof (Std)
    Bose (Std)

    How about Seal?

    In July, you'll be one of the select few to own a 997 TT. One of the hottest cars on the planet, and, for a short while, one of the most sought after. But in 5 years, it'll just be another 997 TT.
    Whereas if you had gone for Seal, in 5 years, you'd still own one of the rarest Porsches ever.

    Congratulations nevertheless, you're a very lucky fellow!

    Seal not available in UK for TT so I've been told.

    I'm very happy that you're getting one of the first ones! Isn't it nice to know that even in a first year's production you can really count on Porsche!

    (I pick up my 997S Cab on 13 June in Stuttgart).

    You're right, Seal is getting replaced with Meteor for the 2007 model year, i.e. from SEPTEMBER on.

    However, yours is a July build. July build 997 Carreras are still available in Seal Grey. A July build 997 TT should be no different.

    I have been told that seal is no longer available, even for the Carreras.

    i couldn't get mine in seal either. i live in RI. I couldn't get a good idea of how meteorite really looks fom the paint chip. i ordered artic silver

    Sorry then. Sounds like you were right.

    I guess I should stick to more common cars, like a Japan-spec 964 Turbo S Flachbau or a 993 Speedster...

    Congratulations. my car is scheduled for July 19 production. Not sure if your list shows all the items. I was told if you order the Adaptive Sports Seats, the rear of the seats will be in black unless you order leather or match to the paint!

    I thought the rear of the adaptive sports seats are grey metallic looking plastic, no?

    Yes, you are right on the grey plastic. It marks very easy as a friend has them on a 996, hence the thought to order leather or paint which seem to hold up better.

    Ordered mine covered with leather. Didn't want an interior loaded with leather only to have plastic dominating the rear of the seats. You'd think Porsche would have come up with something better as a base material but I guess it's a weight thing and a finish thing,--it probably takes paint very well.
