Thanks for the scans, dreamcar. Unfortunately the Autocar article reads more like a breathless rewrite of Porsche marketing materials than a true independent test. There are no independent performance measurements and the author's prose suggests he may have ridden in a 997tt but didn't actually drive one himself. What do you think?

Hey Dreamcar, did you notice that with our 987S we're just 30 years behind in terms of HP (halfway between 930 Turbo and 911 Turbo)
As a consolation: HP is not everything. Remember how planted your car felt a high speed on the Autobahn last weekend - my first ride in the 930 (as a passenger some 30 yrs ago) felt like a devil's ride at the same speed. I guess the new 997 TT will be more like an angel in the handling department

I was truly amazed at how stable and composed the car was at 250 km/h. The experience increased my respect for Porsche engineering and meticulous, if understated development. Absolutely right - bhp is not everything, and if I was a good enough driver and could justify the cost (to my wife)
I'd love a 997 "S", here in the UK if I had a Turbo my licence and possibly life, 
would last but days. 
. Long cross continent blasts, that's what these cars are all about, which is why I am looking forward so much to my trip to the South of France in September. And coming back to your homeland, one day. 
I'd worry about putting Opels on the endangered species list, though

I fully agree with you.The article feels like more like a preview rather than an actuall review.
