    997 TT review in italian..

    Maybe you understand nothing becouse is in italian..but there are also some pictures..

    The car S.GO18 in the italian article is the same car as the one tested in the following video as posted by another reader and the same car that is on page 58/59 of the May Excellence magazine (with none other than Waler Rohl at the wheel).http://www.zoomin.tv/videoplayer/index.cfm?id=207346&mode=normal&quality=3&pid=telegraaf
    That may very well be him driving the car in that video..cause not many people can handle a machine like that...unbelievable.

    And that car S-GO18 is manual with optional LSD.

    Thanks a lot for the file, Dario.

    I have to admire the quattroruote car magazine,
    this file is absolutely amazing, especially the in depth look/pictures regarding the technology of the 997 Turbo.

    I'm envious, I wish I could have written such a report, incl. the pictures. This is the best journalistic report I saw so far and I know that other car magazines could have done the same but didn't. Shame on them and Kudos to our italian friends.

    First, you can see from the video that it is manual... Second, my friend who works at P. told me that it this S-GO18 features optional LSD as well.
    Also I agree with RC, really amazing in-depth technical report!

    very complete and thorought but still more of a preview than review (that's why mags don't do it, i think they're not about doubling the info the manufacturer already gave ).
    not a real test to see how it "feels and handles" on the road, beyond the specs.
    but quite interesting, pretty much all relevant info so far in one single very well presented document

    Guys..

    if i have time i try to translate it in the week end..but in short....
    in part it explain the pictures attached,in part comment the performance of the car on the track,and explain the new technology of the VTG,the new 4 wheel drive system,and tell us that the new turbo is fun to drive a lot more than the 996TT but in the same time easier to control at the limit
    ...talk of the overboost,of the nurburgring times,of the sport tyres

    ...but again nothing about the tiptronic..

    Can't wait to have the car,to make my roadtest!

    The pictures of the front make me dislike this car even more. It looks like a Cayman.

    This car may be a beast as far as power goes but it is far from being the sexy car it once was in the days of the 911 and 964 Turbo days. Too bad.

    Those pictures are bad and the car looks better in other colours than silver. BTW how come there are lots of reviews on the GT3 but hardly any of the Turbo?

    Good answer:

    If you read the reviews you'll see the GT3 has been "introduced" to the press at an event somewhere near Venice, Italy.

    There's sure to be a similar event for the Turbo some time in the future.
