    Upgrading Feelings!!!!

    Hey everyone!

I just had my 997 C2 back from my OPC Today. I would like to share some thoughts regarding the upgrades that my P went through.
    1- H&R Springs
    2- PSE
    3- Illuminated Sills

The H&R Springs are so amazing, it lowered my car around 3 cm at let me tell you, the car looks very verrryyyy naughty The handling was significantly improved, I feel now like driving a go-kart!
Illuminated Sills: DIDN'T expect it would look THAT nice. The tequipment catalogue gives you 10 % of what it really is. You have to see it to believe it.
SAVE THE BEST FOR LAST.......................... THE P....S....E.... just one word.....W....A....W. I just felt in love again with my P. This is my second P, had a 2002 996 C2 and since December 05 the 997 and let me tell you that today and ONLY TODAY I REALLY FEEL I'm driving a PORSCHE... I can't believe I had a Porsche without having a PORSCHE!!!!!!!!! THE PSE is not an option it is a MUST integrated in the car from its birth day (all of you guys with no PSE, believe me YOU ARE MISSING driving... A Porsche). And: "mod" euuu YES PLZZZZZ !!!!! My OPC did it for me with an assurance of no possible damage of the PSE. BIG BIG difference with the mod.... Regarding the tail pipes, which are superb, but the sounddddddd.... O MY GODDD
I'm installing Aluminum Look seat belt next week, as soon as ill get them I'll post some pic...
A big thanks for you rennteamers for helping me making the right decisions.... I love this forum!

    Re: Upgrading Feelings!!!!

sharing your feeling after reading your post today... I suppose what is great about this forum is people like you sharing your emotions. I believe 911 will always be unique because of that wonderful engine sounds far from the back and seeing the heat waves coming out the engine vents from our side rear view mirror...

Hey Georges, I am assuming you are referring to the 'always on' modification yes?

If so then did you find out exactly what they did to make it "assurance of no possible damage"???

    Re: Upgrading Feelings!!!!

Alex, they did the same mod as RC's; disconnecting the vacuum hose => they assured me no bad effect whatsoever...

    Re: Upgrading Feelings!!!!

true ,no problem in disconecting the vaccum hose. you just better close the pipe with an allen screw..

    Done

    Re: Upgrading Feelings!!!!

    Georges,

Do you have pictures of your illuminated sills -- are they steel or CF?

    Re: Upgrading Feelings!!!!

    There you go...

    Re: Upgrading Feelings!!!!

    Another one... steel BTW

    Re: Upgrading Feelings!!!!

You should get the clear protection on them from what I have read. They will get scuffed up by you and your passengers, and that would be a shame on such a nice piece. CONGRATS

    Re: Upgrading Feelings!!!!

THX rhino, can you give me some brand names...?

    Re: Upgrading Feelings!!!!

Any time I am not an expert, so it might be better to do a search in rennteam. I have heard that the 3M products are great, but the installer has to know what he is doing. I have read that ultimately the produst is only as good as the installer.

    Re: Upgrading Feelings!!!!

    PSE and 911 tag...

    Re: Upgrading Feelings!!!!

    ...

    Re: Upgrading Feelings!!!!

Red Calipers... and H&R Springs... 5mm spacers

    Re: Upgrading Feelings!!!!

    Re: Upgrading Feelings!!!!

    AWESOME Car Georges

    Re: Upgrading Feelings!!!!

    Georges,

Great looking car, assume it's Seal Gray?

Just a thought - what happens when the bulb in the door sills goes 'pop'. Is it easy to replace, and more importantly i wonder if you can get the illumination in different colours, e.g. a neon blue type

    Ash

    Re: Upgrading Feelings!!!!

Glad you like my cars guys. Ash, it is a seal grey. the sills can be easily replaced it think. The color IS neon Blue... awesome

Georges, Thanks for that. My Seal Grey C2S apparently finished production last Friday, so just waiting now....

So it *IS* neon-blue - hence your point about it looking so much better in the flesh. The pics attached make it look like white light.

    Thanks again. Ash

    Re: Upgrading Feelings!!!!

Ash, the pics looks far from what it really looks like... Best of luck for your car!

    Re: Upgrading Feelings!!!!

    Georges,

Sounds as if you like pse almost as much as me!

BTW, nice looking car you have there.

It's something you not only hear but feel. The difference is that it also involves you at low revs and gives you the assurance that the car can do whatever you want when you want. ...or something like that.

    Re: Upgrading Feelings!!!!

After reading this, the wait is becoming intolerable. 01st of May cannot come soon enough for me and I have a week off too to enjoy the exhaust note.

Georges, excellent car, lowering it by 30mm seems bang on. I'm contemplating the Illuminated Cills and Guards red seat belts in the near future also.

    Re: Upgrading Feelings!!!!

You guys would still prefer PSE over a performance enhancing exhaust like AWE or Tubi?

It's a good question to be fair. I guess some, like myself consider the car to perform quite well as standard and just like the more sporty sound. Add to that the fact you can switch it off as not to attract attention etc and the added fact that the insurance and Porsche warranty is not under jeapody, this may well be enough. It is for me, but I'm getting old.
