    Yes, its a V1 placed in a remote box. This is not a product from Valentine Research. They purchase the portable detector from Valentine at retail like everybody else and then convert it into a remote version themselves.
    I have my worries anbout the box being completely weatherproof but other than that I cannot comment much more. It should work similar to the portable version but without laser detection.

    I know there are outfits that convert the rear view mirror into a display. What would be *really* cool would be an outfit that could incorporate the entire v1 into the mirror, so that it would be completely built-in and virtually unnoticeable.

    I don't think any mirror is big enough to handle the V1 components, and vice versa - don't think V1 is small enough in terms of construction to fit into a rear view.

    Had a Euro 550, used it on the road's downunder until it broke (got out of phase), so rather than a re-tuning it in Canada bought another Bel (a localised version) and this one is much better than the 550 (minimal false signals - still only using Ka) and I think is much better than my friends V1's which always give off a lot of false.

    I believe you are talking about the aussi Bel Vector XR's? those are specifically made for Austarlia and New Zealand and are better suited there

    Unfortunately, you're right. But what would be cool would be to have the antennas in the mirror itself, and the electronics in the base of the mirror where it's seated on the windscreen or roof... Maybe someday

    from my experience the radars don't really work in greece...i had one at our ferrari and it alarmed me all the time for no reason whatsoever.....and between u and me, u don't need one in greece....just carry a packet of euros with u and you'll be fine !!!
