    Whiite 997S

    Am strongly considering a new white Carrera S, with black painted rims. I know the problem with keeping it clean, but with the hot summer coming up I think white might be nice. I haven't had a white Porsche since my 1974 RS 3.0, but white is growing on me. In DC where I live, I rarely see white Porsches, so seems that there may be a unique factor as well.

    Anyone got a white Carrera? Do you like/dislike it? Comments will be appreciated, thanks.

    Go with white. The current white is very white but I doubt you want to pay extra for the older shades Light Ivory or the other older whites with less of a blue hue in them.

    White washes up fast, is easy to keep clean, waxs up nice, doesnt show swirls or rock chips much (the primer underneath is white)and it looks great at night.

    white body, black rims (not shiny) is a really good combo
    original and almost threatening

    I have a funny suspicion that you may already know that there is a white w/black rims 997 sitting on the showroom floor at a DC area Porsche dealer . In my humble opinion it is stunning and very unique, with a hint of old school, which for me is very appealing. Best of luck on your dicision.

    I had a white C$ years ago. I did not like the white color back then, but NOW I think it is a sharp color. I think it will be a major color in the next few years. Black and silver 911s are getting boring and too predictable.

    We took posession of our Carrara White Carrera coupe in mid march. After living with a midnight blue 996 for over two years the biggest difference is in what you don't feel, the heat. Midnight blue would transfer a tremendous amount of heat to the interior after setting in the sun. The Carrara White is just the opposite. Plus when it comes to the interior any of the dark leather colors; black, sea blue, palm green, natural grey or cocoa blend very well with it.

    Beauty!!!

    I've always loved White Porsches. The last two 997's I've seen were White ( Coupe, and Cab w/ Grey top ) and they looked SWEET!!!

    There are pics around of a white C2S coupe, with black rims, and in black the word "carrera" on the side, like the old RS2.7 had... it looked very cool, I would buy it in a heartbeat. When I am home tonight, I'll post the pics.

    Thanks for all the advice, guys. I bought the car today-- Carrara White, black rims, sport exhaust, Sport Chrono, 5mm wheel spacers, black leather interior, sport seats, carbon package, phone module, lettering deletion and a few other goodies. I am super pleased, and will post pics as soon as a computer buddy comes over tomorrow and shows me how to post them.
