    I bet if you install a rocket on a Walmart trolley it will beat them all (including Shumy's F1 car) on a straight line !!! But sadly wouldn't become a Super Sports Car Handling & Co. produces a Super S.C. (my humble opinion)

    The M5 would be a lot quicker if it could control it's rear end. I bet it's a blast to drive though. Yeah, I suppose it's only natural to be disappointed with the result but I personally don't think it was a true reflection of what it can do.

    Saying that of course the M3/M5 looked impressive. The Skyline for me is an aweful looking car, the Gallardo was quick on the straights and looked twitchy as hell on the bends. All in all I think there was a bit of showboating there.

    I'll not be cancelling my 997 order on the strength of that one.

    Haha, what was the point of that? If they really wanted to compare the cars they should have driven them one-by-one.

    its obvious that driver skill has influence...

    for example: the 997 driver did not launch it properly

    yeah but thinking the 997 had the worst driver is barely a consolation :-)

    I was amazed that M5 stayed ahead as long as it did. No wonder that it was a lottery as to who collected the win at the end as he had them all bunched up behind him, while he showboated in the last lap.

    The CSL did look very fast though and considering how cheap you can get them now, it look like a bargain.

    It would be interesting to know from a Japanese speaking member what sort of pedigree these drivers boast, that is beyond being sbdy's grandma :-)

    I can't remember the Gallardo having amazing lap times in any mags I have read so it didn't surprise me that it didn't go better.

    The sideways M5 did look awesome but had that race gone on for one more lap those dodgy BM brakes would have taken the smile off his face at the next set of braking points

    guys .. thats ok.... i have a video with modena , porsche turbo,nsx-r,350z ,carrera, carrera s of best motoring..
    and in my video the carrera S win the test of brakes..
    stay in second at 1/4 mile .. only behind of the turbo.. and the CS wins the track ... after 5 laps... and now stays in last?? a little strange...

    Not that strange at all.

    This show is entertainment and it fills that criteria admirably, even if I can't understand one word of it

    It's a good idea tough, fun to watch.

    JUAT a plain radio/cd ...

    Seen this version one year ago also in a Japanese pic

    Seems like the Japanese are charged extra for the PCM unit??

    Yeah strange....350Z is much better than the M5,the Turbo is much faster than a Gallardo,the NSX-R is way faster than the NISMO and the Modena is better than the CSL....

    Anyway,if some of you don't like the race results,take a look at the time attack lap times.

    Man you can tell this is a 911 forum :P. That is just a clip, you can go buy the full dvd- cars are always driving individually.

    Look at what the 997S was competing against, its not like its a vastly superior car. A turbo would have fit in better with that competition.

    M5 Gallardo and GTR all have at least 500hp. That GTR's 500hp is also VERY conservative, that last straight it passes 3 cars.

    If you watch alot of Bestmotorings the driver and track make a big difference... and even with a better driver and optimal track though, I think the 997S would have problems with those cars.

    I mean if you look at the attack times:
    #1 Gallardo 1.37.53
    #2 GTR 1.37.55
    #3 M3CSL 1.39.93
    #4 997S 1.40.29
    #5 M5 1.41.88

    Those numbers look very realistic.. its not like the 997S is the fastest car and it finished last... its one of the slower ones and had a bad start.

    I guess if you knew anything about cars you might realise that bhp does not make a car faster around a track. I am not saying that the times are wrong but your logic is seriously flawed.

    Check out a recent Top Gear with a 500BHP M6 and a little baby 355bhp 997S as an example of track/road performance

    Or maybe an article in Evo where a Carrera S (-20mm) is faster than a 996 Turbo or SLK 55AMG or SL600 or AMV8 or DB9 or LAMBORGHINI MURCIELAGO

    Well I didn't mean to say hp means everything but you're comment is just as stupid saying it means nothing. I'm pretty sure an engine serves some useful function in a car. Your examples are great still the 997S is the weakest bhp/kg of the cars in that race... and that has something to do with it not easily besting them all.

    Maybe your right, bhp means nothing, 997S finished in 4th because he handles so poorly. :P

    Or even funnier bhp means nothing which is why the Gallardo finished first.... pure handling car.

    Best Motoring time attack times (the numbers above) are done by the same driver that races. So this times are not from the very same driver.

    I have another race around Sugo (smae track) where the 997S beats the NSX-R, 360 Modena, 996 Turbo (X73 and PCCB) in this order

    Then I can show you another video at Sugo (same track) were the 996 (standard) destroys a 360 Modena, so it has a little to do with the driver

    However those time-attack times seem about right with the 997S producing the same time of the CSL (remember cup tyres) and 1.5 seconds better than M5 that they both could not pass
