How much more lipstick and make-up can you put on VH platform and the DB9 shell?
Cut the sausage long, it's a Rapide. Cut the sausage short, it's a Vantage. Add more spice, it's a Virage. Add even more spice, it's a DBS.
It's all becoming a silly exercise at this point.
wow, asian influence does not look good on the AM body profile. It almost looks aftermarket.
I agree with Heist, they came across a great initial design and now they are too attached to it, its time to stop making small changes to try and refresh the thing and get a blank slate and start again. If the core values of the brand and their identity is strong enough they should be able to move past this and turn a new leaf.

+1 ... it just looks like a Frankenstein car where Aston has put together design cues from existing cars (DBS, One-77 etc) in a melange that is far from harmonious.
Macadamia brown only looks good on ice cream :)
997.1 C2S GT Silver/Cocoa, -20mm/LSD, PSE, short shifter, SportDesign rims, Zuffenhausen pickup, BMW Z4 2.5i Roadster Sterling Grey/Red

I swear it's as if the guys at Mansory took over AM.

Mansory is even worse than this .... I guess that before you can place an order for a Mansory car, it must be a pre-requisite that you have zero taste and don't care what people will think of you :)

on the contrary, those who order Mansory cars want others to notice how rich and how tasteful they are

Nahh AM use glue.(plus I believe that is a trunk) No real difference than the ducktail showing up on a few 911 anniversary models. Looks pretty good in this angle pictured below. AM line-up looks like a million shades of white, but this may be the best. I will wait till I see 1 in person.
too many design curves...
I think designers talk about "surface tension" when talking about the looks of a car. Well, on this model, there are so many slats and rips and unnecessary lines that all the surface tension as gone, and all that remains is a shape that vaguely reminds of something beautiful...

Well those few people who have seen one in the flesh swear that it is stunning. I am reserving judgement until I see one as I think it looks great from some angles in photos and not so good from others...
Its not really a brand new model but its a big step up from the current range. CF body panels and a reworked engine has boosted power to 565BHP and made the car more economical at the same time.
Its more of a 997.1 > 997.2 upgrade than a whole new 991 however...
This is the start of a clean up of the model range which can be a tad confusing to some. Vanquish will replace DBS as the flagship model, and the current DB9 and Virage will be discontinued with a new DB9 (based around a slightly downgraded current Virage) being released soon. There will be a "Virage pack" available for DB9 to take it back up to current Virage spec (e.g CF brakes etc...).
Aston did not do much to upgrade the interior dash displays. No hi-res LCD. The steering wheel still looks overly thick and a remanent from the old Vanquish.
I do not know guys, I'm trying to find a compelling reason why someone would want this over a current spec DBS (+ a few thousands in tweaks) and I can't seem to find one.
The opinion of the readership of Teamspeed is almost unanimous that this is perhaps the best that AM has ever done and one of the nicest cars available now. It is interesting to see different viewpoints, I read most other forums to one extent or another. Teamspeed is more diverse and has the highest wealth demographic, so that leads me to believe that this car may be a winner.
