    It is the first time I see a 991 without the Porsche lettering on the rear and with  just the model designation. In my opinion and compared to the 997 the lettering appears to be a bit too small and not centered (vertically speaking). Not that it matters too much.

    Hes zoning after a big hike on a hot day and pondering his scud and turbo s lostSmiley

    yes I said same thing to dealer about the letters but once I saw it in person it's fine.  Sure beats PORSCHE, etc

    Just picked up my 991 Carrera S cabriolet yesterday. So far I have only driven it home from the dealer in heavy traffic.

    My equipment:

    Platinum Silver Metallic, black top, black full leather interior, Bose audio, premium package w/14 way seats, power steering plus, multi-function steering wheel, 7 speed manual transmission and 20" sport techno wheels. I have only seen one other 991 with the sport techno wheels. I really like the simplicity of the 5 spoke wheel. Plus they have other benefits from the other wheels offered. They are 1/2" wider than the other wheels. And according to Christophorus Magazine they are also lighter than other wheels.

    I parked my 2005 997 Carrera S cabriolet next to it for compaison. They are the same color. In some ways they look a lot alike. But, when you look closer you realize how entirely different they are. The biggest difference is the interior. I feel it is a nice upgrade from my 997.

    As I get to drive the car some more I will report back with my impressions.

    Thanks to all of you for expert analysis which helped me decide what to order.

    The digital read outs are nice, one can see oil temperature roll up to 150 or so accurately, so you know when it's warm enough to exceed 4000 rpm... 

    I was joking with my dealer now that nav is standard he can't complain about me not ordering it anymore!
