200'000? I'm now at 249'000 miles...
BTW, nice to see you're still around, Watt!
Should you intend to sell your car at some point in the future you might want to check with Porsche. Maybe they buy it for their museum - Mercedes has a MB car in their museum just because it did so many km
pierre:
@MKSGR: I went to Leipzig back in 2004 and the guys there were already impressed to hear my car already had 160'000 km. But actually, Sportec might have more interest in the car than Porsche...
Maybe you can do a little auction with Porsche and Sportec as interested buyers - your car might bring more Euros than you originally paid for it

That is utterly fantastic Pierre! This week-end I drove across Europe with the S8 from work to visit some clients, I ended up doing 2.500km in two days and recall being proud at that car's mileage when I got out yesterday (270k km's), now it suddenly seems like peanuts.
Congrats man, on many more to come!
Awesome Pierre!
Love the picture of your son as well, he must be one of the happiest kids!
Could you share some more pics of the front of the car, I always thought the Sportec "rocket launchers" in the front intakes looked awesome...
Cheers, Joost
Joost, you'll find some pics that were taken during the first upgrade here:

@Ferdie: He told me this morning that I should get a... Volvo.

Thanks Pierre! Funny to see that you called them missile launchers as well...
What are they for btw? Additional cool air to the front brake discs?

A Volvo? Your son needs to sniff more petrol...mine is bugging me all the time to get a Bugatti Veyron Super Sports but he would settle for a Lamborghini Aventador ...for now. I taught him well... Funny enough, he dreams of a Mercedes GLK as his first car because "it is slow and safe". Not sure where he got that from.
Congratulations...400000 km are amazing and Sportec should really offer you a complete full stage tuning for your next new Turbo...in exchange for your "old" car.
Dumb question: Aren't you worried about parts wear and aging? Or have you exchanged all critical parts already over the years?

Actually, my son loves the Turbo. He always tell me I have to raise the rear-wing so that I can go faster and overtake everybody. He also loves a bit of drifting. All of that with very loud hard rock, of course. So I think he might have some of my genes too...
@Joost: yes, the missile launchers are cooling ducts forcing air directly to the brakes. I could have had them in black, but I wanted to make them visible. The Sportec rims are gorgeous, yeah. At the time I did the upgrade, I didn't want to mount them because the Pirelli Corsa didn't fit. Might reconsider now... The front lip? No way. My car is very low and I scratch the lip all the time. A hard one like on the pic wouldn't survive for long...
@RC: yes, the whole package is aging. The suspension has been changed several times already, it's the second gearbox (changed the first one at 256'000 km), etc. The clutch is now a stronger Sachs clutch that came with the first engine upgrade. Still doing well. No bad sign from the current gearbox either. And the power delivery is still amazing.
