Mini-break in North Wales

Just spent some more time driving 'The Triangle' and thought we'd look for a few new roads to try... Smiley

Took the Bangor road out of Conwy and found ourselves on the Sychnant Pass. Liked it so much we stayed the night to do it again! Smiley

Took some photos along the way - the quality isn't brilliant (camera-phone Galaxy S11) but the roads and scenery were.. Smiley

Stayed overnight at this superb Country House....

Side View...

Not a road to mess with - no second chance if you leave it abruptly!!

What a nice car, looks strangely familiar - oh yes, I've got one just like it. Smiley

Sounds like you had a good time. Just recently got back from a 1,400 km round trip up the Garden Route coast - the GTS just keeps getting better!

Thanks for taking us along John. Usually I love the area's you guys post from England and I like the parts I have seen but this area will be off my list. It just leaves me feeling cold for some reason.

Tom - North Wales looks somewhat bleak at this time of the year and, of course, a mobile phone camera doesn't help to do it justice anyway. Believe me, it comes alive in a month or two. I'll take my camera next time and hopefully you'll see the difference and feel the warmth... wink

John, many thanks for posting - love the report and photos. Smiley

Looking forward to taking our "new" baby on it's first UK tour in June, we will be in the Ludlow area of Shropshire for a week, then Germany in August to see SWMBO's family and hopefully catch up with Mr & Mrs porsche-jeck.

DC - If you're in Ludlow for a week we should be able to meet up somewhere...it's not that far from me. I quite often use the A49 to get to Symonds Yat and to South Wales. We'll have to give it some thought closer to the date.. Smiley

You're right Gnil, there are similarities, particularly with Southern Ireland around the Ring of Kerry for example..

I was in the south , around Clonmel . I' ve spent 4 times one month, and drove there from Switzerland, passing through Whales . Then I went t back and forth from Horsham ( UK ) . When I was in Ireland, I drove many of the south roads and small passes. It was great !
