Always loved BMW, except when Bangle was designing them. Bangle garnered huge sales in America and Middle East for BMW. I am guessing now BMW will be flop in America and Middle East but do very well in ROW. Nevertheless, this one has few elements from E90, would have liked it even more if the designer completely ignored Bangle, and made this an evolution of E46.

It will please the friends of the recent BMW style. That's all.
Personally I like BMW as a company and technology leader and I wanted to own one of their cars, but only the 7 series does something for my taste, which is outside my scope. Their recent offering X3, Z4, 5, 5GT, 6, 1 and now the 3 (from what we can see so far) leave me very cold. I was especially hoping very much for the new 6 but I was hugely let down, unfortunately.
I'm a multiple BMW Motorrad customer though, and very happy for that.

I think the car looks very very nice. The front has agressive Z4 look - and rear looks like F10 5 series which is a good thing. The interior is much better than E9X. There are 3 different trims: Lux - Modern - Sport.
More over the car lost 40-45 kg depends on the engine and the new 2.0 litre turbo engine is promising with 245 hp and 350 NM. I remember the time when I saw the E90 the first time and it wa awful.
Also, I have seen the new 1 series in flesh and it doesn't look that much ugly in flesh. This new 3 series will be a big success. Wait to see it in flesh before crucify it.

New 1 series and 5 series had sex with unfortunately not the best possible outcome...
I think it is a more of a mixture of Z4 and 5 series. And the interior is more like 1 series which seems more logical to have 5-7 series on one end and 1-3 series on the other.

I really like the front of the new 3 series, but always thought that the 3 series was too small for the sedan shape. I like it better in the Touring version. I'm sure the new 3 series Touring will look stunning. I've owned a 2006 325i Touring and loved it. Great daily driver, big enough if you don't have too often rear passengers and the handling is like no other car in the segment.
