John,
I got the black guards installed the other day. Attached are a few pics. I really like the look...sharp and very sporty!
...and everyone at the Porsche dealership complemented me on the change over to the black . They said I am the first one to come up with this great idea!! ...but I had to honestly tell them it is YOU that deserves all the credit John!
Thanks again for taking the lead on this!
Gilmour:
Doug - the black guards with the black soft top look really good.
I still cant get over the sound of the sports exhaust but in your car with the top down it must be out of this world
Thanks Gilmour! That's exactly what everyone is saying...the black guards "complete the look" with the black top. ...and yes, driving this car in full sport mode with the top down is VERY addictive!!

Looks great Doug - even better on your Cabrio with the black roof!!
Can't take all the credit for suggesting black guards - they come standard on the Speedster, which is where I first saw them. Also I think Kashmir ordered his GTS with black guards from new.
Anyway... glad everyone's happy with them - and please keep the great photos coming..

Last night I got my GTS to over 170mph on an empty stretch of motorway after dark...
It reached that mark so easily it was frightening and to think there was still quite a bit more to go..!!
As soon as I saw another vehicle I backed off. Can't wait to get to Silverstone next month...

Of course all that on a little detour through Germany´s Black Forest while on your way to the cinema...

Nice work John!
I'm a bit jealous since I have only touched 140...but with three "points" on my driving record already, I don't have any Mulligans to spend!
The fastest track around here will only tolerate around 125 in the GTS, before you have to break heavily for a turn-in.
How fast will you be able to go at Silverstone? If only I could try the oval at Daytona! 190 would be easily reachable there!
Enjoy the track at Silverstone! I'll be anxious to read your review.
Keep the shiny side up!!
Easy - thanks, I know you're right.. but it's very difficult to resist when the road is clear and the car is so stable!
Doug - Mulligans won't help at these kind of speeds... The car's stability and safety features will mean nothing if you get caught.. I'm hoping 'Hangar Straight' will get it out of my system for me..

IMO a nice stretch of Autobahn in a less populated part of the former East Germany is the best place to really give it the beans. Don't ask me how I know .... the long drive to Leipzig gave me a chance to fly

John - hangar straight wont get it out of your system - you will just want to visit Silverstone more often
hey john. we have the same car!
only i did a few things extra. will post pics.
i went for the speedster look.
painted mirror holders, mirror base, and front grill in glossy black. Also painted the sideskirts, the 2 small parts on each side of the rear bumper, and front lip in white.
looks awesome.
i will also order the speedster front lip soon.
Sounds great Simz - can't wait to see your photos..
Funnily enough my latest thoughts have been to maybe paint the mirrors black. I was going to try a photoshop impression but will wait for your pics first..
BTW - with that choice of break-in, what's your oil consumption been like?

Whilst I was at Silverstone yesterday I spotted a Carrera White Cayman S with black wheels in the Porsche pool park. It also had black mirrors, which is something I've been considering for my GTS, so I took some photos.. (only with my iPhone I'm afraid).
What do you guys think...?
