Well, now that we know that press cars are tuned (458) and that owner's cars can't reproduce the times achieved in magazines (430), this video makes much more sense tant it did before...
A F430 is far from being a slow car; so why is this car so far behind the 458?
(Maranello was never going to invite me for a test drive anyway...)

Having owned both I can say that the 458 is much quicker than the 430 which isn't surprising due to the significant leap in both BHP (570CV vs 490CV) and torque (398lb/ft vs 343lb/ft) coupled with the much faster shift times of the DCT gearbox vs the F1 sequential box in the older car.

It's not as fast as the Enzo of course; at least not in a straight line. The Enzo has been clocked at 19s for the 1000 metres from a standstill and at around 25 seconds for the 0-300 km/h dash. The 458 is a lot slower than that but it still destroys the 430.

Just wanted to share an observation ....
Yesterday morning, as I was walking to work, I saw a 458 Italia driving past me in traffic ...
I have to say that, in the flesh, this car really looked nice ... we've seen so many pictures in magazines, watched videos, seen motor show photos etc but seeing it in the real world on the road is the real test ... this car looks so much more modern than the (now ageing) F430.
Of course, I am a Porsche man for so many reasons but this was just an observation I made based on looks alone ...
