I assume they're already allocated - I never liked it personally - the side profile was just too 'humpy' for me - but somehow, there was a demand for it

You can't be serious about it, are you seriously considering getting one ?
For a collection, when money doesn't matter, this might be a nice addition but for driving fun...well...completely overpriced.
Get a 997 Turbo S Cab instead and save some money or get the new 997 GTS Cab with the same engine as the Speedster and save even more money.
Stay away from the Speedster, this car isn't worth what it costs.
Just my 2 cents only of course...

Right now, IMvHO the only 911s worth getting are 997.2 Carrera GTS, GT3, GT3 RS, TT, TTS, GT2 RS until the 991 models become available ...

Only in blue or white. Only 356 made. It's a safe bet they're all spoken for.
Save money and buy a Turbo S cab.
Or a real 356 Speedster!
