    That sign sparked a memory. I checked out Brevard for land one day while living in Greenville. It is a very nice little town, very quaint small town shopping district and main street. Better than most of equivalent size, but at the same time extremely remote.

    I almost bought in Hendersonville. How often do you get down to Greenville? Now you can get there in no time. Those are the pictures I want to see. Your turbo parked on the bridge near the famous Peace bridge over the Falls.

    Nice pic!
    Yeah, couldn't he!  Story I heard was they (Dead) were in England (might have been France) and the band (Garcia, et. al.) went out exploring.  Hunter stayed behind in the hotel room with a case of wine, got pretty faced, and wrote most of what became "American Beauty". 
    I lived in Austin, TX what seems like a million years ago.
    13th Floor Elevators played the local music scene back then, late 60s.

    Thanks! That's the only pic of my 964, taken on a drive from Texas to California, back when that was a current model and I was better looking, a legendary road trip.

    I heard the same story about writing those songs. Prolific talent, and recently he's published translations of Rilke, so he's broadly accomplished.

    I remember the 13th Floor Elevator but mostly from San Francisco, where I grew up in the Sixties, watching the Dead play on the back of a flatbed truck in the park. For our high school graduation, I organized with Bill Graham's Millard Agency to have the Dead play for our senior prom. The price? $1500, which we had in the class account from car washes. Unfortunately, the principal nixed the idea.

    What a night that would have been, had they shown and had they finished the set!

    Love the illuminated door sills--I have them on my Cayenne Turbo S. An elegant touch, IMHO. Went to camp in Brevard as a kid in the 50's--wonderful times...
