    Re: 997 GT2 RS - Official Information & Photos

    Spyderidol:

My "problem" with this is the color coordination.

I personally would prefer that yellow , red , black and white not be all mixed together.

Example: If they are going to use yellow on the break calipers, then why not use yellow accents throughout the car . By mixing all the colors together, Porsche is giving the impression (at least to me) that  all of the trim is an "afterthought". It looks like someone got inebriated near the parts bin and decided to throw on additions that were not really made for the car.1284963401193drunk.gif

Look at the color coordination in the Ferrari in the background.

guys, from the other thread about the Nardo test - no-one noticed they weighed the GT2RS ?

Check out its REAL weight - my properly specced GT2 with special wheels and 64l tank is only 5kg heavier Smiley

Not sure about the weight specs specified by AMS. I assume a misprint. Please also look at the weight figure of the 458. Does not make much sense either (too low, in this case).

    Re: 997 GT2 RS - Official Information & Photos

AMS DID NOT measure weight of test cars in Nardo. Unfortunately, it was not possible. They printed factory figures.

Which "factory figures" give 1445kg Smiley

Is this the DIN weight + 75kg driver ?

    DIN weight 1370kg + 68kg for driver + 7kg for lagguage = 1445kg EG weight.

    Re: 997 GT2 RS - Official Information & Photos

    68kg for a driver? Smiley

    Nice DIN spec...

Great car - but the worst distribution and sales job ever Smiley

The market is now beeing flooded with these cars. Shortly after the first deliveries there are already several cars waiting at the dealer for resale in Germany. Even now prices are just approx. at MSRP. Next spring prices will be substantially below MSRP. And this for a "limited" car.

There will be a bad wake-up for speculators. At the same time Porsche Germany had no interest in selling cars to serious and well-known GT customers... They rather sold to speculators... With the well known impact on resale prices.

    Interesting....

In the UK the word is there will be 28 cars, C16 RHD UK spec models. The 2009 PCM3 GT2 production run was about the same ~30 cars (OK this was quite a lot to do with the credit crunch timing) so it is hardly a rare GT2 in the UK either

The R8 performance seems to be a joke!!!! Lambo LP has 70 less and it´s way faster till 200Kph, let alone the Turbo S.

100% agree. My personal estimation for Germany tells me that currently about 20% of all cars delivered to date are already for sale on the grey market again...

Thanks for the link. As even Röhrl is saying that the tire is the limiting factor on the CGT, are there any news on the Pirelli retrofit that was mentioned earlier?
