911 owners are very polite, love their cars, and flash back. I am more amazed at the response of other people when I fill up at the gas station. I have owned lots of performance cars. When I had a corvette there were an a lot of corvette junkies out there I discovered. Boxster was neutral. My NSX seemed to be get a lot of attention as nobody had ever seen one (they only were selling about 200-300 a year in he US). I had three Ferraris and 2 328s and a real nice 355. The weird thing was people would ask me all the time what kind of frame did I put he kit car on with the Ferraris...really weird? Kit car??? This is a Ferrari! I bet the newer ones would finally impress the crowd. I had several 911s and the crowd seems to really love them. Among the older 911s, the 993 was a real crowd pleaser. It was yellow before people had a lot of yellow cars, so that may have been a factor. Now for the weirdest thing among people at gas stations. My wife has a Lexus SC430 that causes more attention then I can figure out. I thought it was just because she was driving it (cute blonde and all that), but when I drive it (do NOT tell her I drove it, she is crazy about me not touching HER car) the same thing happen. Young kids, guys, old ladies, sexy thing, everybody stops and say what a wonderful car...beats me is just a Lexus???? My M3 did not get much attention. All that said it is still impressive when I drive down the street in my new 997 C4S (red) the amount of people who wave and flash the latest version of a classic design is wonderful. Of course many of my friends simply smile and laugh as Dr Stork wastes his kids inheritance...again and again!!!!
I gave the kids a great education, so thats all they will get asI plan to spend it all before I die.
