No, I will not spend money on the paddles. I got used to the puddles. If I had a choice on a new car I would go for the paddles as they are definitely more natural and nicer to use.... Another 'problem' is that they are not on the steering column.

I have not driven the Turbo that was in the showroom. But when I sat in the car I noticed that the paddle steering wheel is thinner (like 997.1) which I liked.
I am not sure yet until I drive a car, although I am very used to the buttons after 1 year.

With 1.000 Euro you mean the retrofit, no? 
I would be surprised if it cost more than in case of the Turbo when you order it from the beginning.

Yes, the amount is for retrofit, perhaps nearer EUR 900
Reginos, thanks for the information about date and cost of the retro-fit.
I have certainly got used to the buttons, and I never had a problem with the way they are set up. But I have a HUGE problem with how plasticky they feel when depressed. It is for this reason only that I would consider a change to paddles, provided they offer a better tactile feel.
At present I use the gear lever, and imagine I'm in a cup car!! I much prefer the more mechanical feel of changing using the gear lever.
