Regardless of how good it looks, which I'm not so sure after all these years of seeing DB9s on the street. This is an extortion. They should just call it DB9 4 door version.
This car is the exact reason why I walked away from purchasing an absolutely gorgeous Quantum silver DBS.
i think we could add an element of oldness to the list of problems. Its too late for this car. the DB9 already looks old when parked next to a DBS. The concept version looked seriously acceptable for production back when it was first lauched, so putting a non-concept not-so-cool looking version in the streets so much time later just makes it look.... old. that said Aston better be working on a DB9 replacement due sometime soon, cause the freshness its wearing off.
RC:Very nice car but it has the same "issues" the Maserati Quattroporte has: too expensive for the performance it delivers.
Yes, unless you drive on the autobahn regularly and some here do, performance discussions about - 0-60 , 100-200, top speed, are all pointless.
Enmanuel - a car either looks good or doesn't look good. A good design is timeless and should not need any fix. Very few make it into that category, but for me my car sure did and the Merc CLS did. Others have also - I could easily name about 15 more from the last 50 years.
This car probably sounds as good as any 4 door ever will, the interior is second to none, and its performance is more than any sedan needs in the real world.
Lets see it in black photographed in the real world in the evening and hear about the handling.
So I see no problems other than the price or possibly service related.

I may have said that wrong on my previous comment. I honestly believe that Aston's Horizontal platform from which the DB9, DBS, and Vantage is a great piece of tech that allowed the DB line and the Vantage line to become very iconic and beautiful cars. they are timeless. but the same recipie just didn't quite work out for the Rapide. this car sort of makes the same design look old. And that in turn could hurt the image of the whole range.

Funny I never liked the DB9 or DBS but their shape kinda works in the sedan because it looks more bland vs. the agressive Vantage and Vanquish, which I liked very much.
It would be interesting to hear your impression if you went for a drive in this car.
its interesting how our likes in regard to this suubject are total opossites, i like the shape on the DB9 and DBS but not on the Rapide.
I have driven the Vantage V8, unfortunately neither the DB9 or DBS. IMO the V8 is a fun car to drive, amazing sound and feel. but its just not as fast and agile as i expected. I honestly think the car is more of a soul thing, its very comfortable and composed. you either love it or hate it. that said i has a fantastic time driving it.
