REALZEUS:
KresoF1: Even Porsche announces both dry and kerb weights. 1370 dry for a normal (i.e. non-track focused ala Scuderia or GT3 RS) supercar is excellent IMO.
Actually Porsche, like most car manufacturers, publishes weights as specified by DIN and ISO standards, but not "dry weight", for which there is no acknowledged industry standard.
As KresoF1 implied, quoting dubious dry weight figures in this day and age is a Ferrari speciality.

andrea:Tempo giro di Fiorano 1’25’’
That is approx. one second slower than the current Scuderia... Should make those who consider exchanging their Scuderia for a 458 think twice
Fiorano is rather short track with short straights so that it favors the cars with nimble handling regardsless of power. Therefore Scuderia is on par with Enzo on the very same track.
It doesn't mean that 458 is not faster. Howeve, I were to have a Scuderia, would have kept it for the next couple of years, enjoy it and than sell it to buy 458 variant of Scuderia. But this is just me.
I wouldn't buy a totally new car during its first production year.

This sports seat looks awesome. I would have gone for Bianco fuji with sports seats in bordeux with forged smoked 16M wheels if I had the chance . Alcantara pattern on the sports seat is very nice. white stiching and white rev counter would complete the interior.

Dedi, totally awsome specs. Talked with my F dealer today-all solved out. My 458 will be in my garage in May 2010.
congrats Kreso
Which colour? I expect a very special nice grey colour from you
Grigio Titanio Metallic.
My 2nd best of all Ferrari colors BUT I would have gone for Bianco fuji without thinking.
CONGRATS KRESO, BTW.

I give you some info:
458 is not so light because of standard equipment, CO2 rules (cat with more weight),new engine and new standards for USA crash test.
458 Italy uses materials not so light ( to not increase too much the price). The new 458 "Scuderia" will use light materials and so the weight will fall a lot.
New 458 "Scuderia" for Q1 2011 (yes, not as usual at the end of lifetime). In the same year new 458 Challenge for GT3-GT2 Motorsport races

Heard the same thing-162185€ without local VAT.So, in Germany with some options around 205K-210K €.
That's not too bad, if you ask me, though price will definitely rise quickly over the first two years.
Now the most important thing is how to spend these additional 12 to 17.000 Euro.

Agreed, seems to be a fair price.
For the price of a 997GT2 you get:
- latest DSG technology
- 570hp
- lots of sound
- a Ferrari

It is even cheaper than Mercedes SLS AMG and Porsche 911 Sports Classic
When you compare this price against Audi R8 V10, Mercedes SLS AMG and 911 Sports Classic prices, it is a bargain

SLS AMG is cheaper-177310€ with Mwst.
Audi R8 V10 with full options cost max. 183.000€(this includes all possible CF items). R8 Spyder is belive it or not cheaper in the end then Coupe version since CF engine trim, leather roofliner etc. are not possible on it to order. Full option R8 Spyder manual 173000€.
997.2 Turbo PDK Coupe with full options 183.000€.

Hmm... 20" forged 16M style wheels, Leather roofiner, Leather inner side skirts, maybe Grigio Ferro Metallic... NO CF items if you ask me. In comparison with Audi or Porsche they are overpriced at Ferrari. Audi R8 CF items quality is actually better then those on Cali. ...and if you choose CF inner trim for 458 end price could be over 220K € easily...

SLS is cheaper, but Kreso was quicker.
BUT, if you get optional CCM for SLS, price difference is melting like ice in the sun.

Dual colour leather? Adaptive lights? Navigation? Painted side skirts?
Also not sure about the forged wheels, they are not typical 458, they are 16M.
Absolutely agree about the CF, aluminium trim looks good in the 458, no need for too expensive CF. Except if you go for the racing seats, as the backrest shows lots of CF.

Stefan,
Grigio Titanio Met. with Nero/Bordeaux pelle or Grigio Ferro Met.(from 1950/60s) with Nero/Bordeaux pelle in your opinion?
Also interesting is Argento Nurburgring Met. with Blu Scuro pelle, I bet it will be a rare choice. IMHO lighter shades will look awsome of 458.

I remember that SLS is 200.000 Euro incl. VAT but I stand corrected.
However, I was expecting something like 180.000 Euro Netto price for 458.
What was the list price for F430 Coupe with F1 tranny?

Now that is a much better choice! Conservative, classy and highlights the beauty of the car. You may have made me rethink my color options.
I'd advise extreme caution on colour choices. It depends upon your local market but some colour combinations can be very difficult to sell on the used market. Argento Nurburgring with Blue Scurro would be the kiss of death in the UK for example. Silver V8 Ferraris just do not sell here unless they are much cheaper.

Agreed. I would NEVER order a midengined Ferrari in silver.
