CloseI love te 458, but its a bit extreme in my opinion, they started with the 360 being on par with the 911 gt3, went to gt2 with the 430, now they are in the carrera gt/enzo category
I personaly would love to see a dino type, below 4l mid engined sports car, not a gt like the california but, a little lotus or porsche 911 type car, well actualy somthing like the 360 modena but i a new interpretation
Too many " cheaper " cars today with test track numbers that equal or in some cases exceed the 430, such as GTR and ZR1.
There are already " engineer lightness" cars such as Lotus and Radical that have that 2000 -2500 lb market covered.
Ferrari will probably position their new mid-V8 in the higher $200s base price to maintain exclusivity by price ( certainly not by numbers built over the entire run ,though ) .
Funny to read all the self serving teeth gnashing on Ferrari boards about projected price of the new model, when AMG CL and S classes ( and the 997.2 GT2 ) are in the low $200K range and various sport versions of Astons and Bentleys are $250,000-350,000 . Heck, most German top range SUVs and flagship sedans are now in the $130-150K range when optioned out .

yup, prices in general are going through the roof.....the bubble that had resulted in the mess we are in is the kick starter for all this.
Yeah, most higher- end US suburban shopping malls are littered with > $100K " everyday " cars today , that to most folks , even car enthusiasts are , look like $70K cars ( which is what they are worth the moment you drive a new one off the dealer lot !)
Bentleys and such depreciate even harder and can be bought 1 yr old for price of new S Class, but the great masses see them as " billionaire's cars " and most professionals won't be caught dead pulling up to their office in one lest they want all their clients to drop them. Image always cuts two ways.
