update on my BMW 325es
Hey guys,
Been very busy with work lately, but have found a couple of hours after the shifts to work on my e30. First i had to resolve the cluster issue because the rpm gauge was not working. After a way too complicated two hours i got the thing to work but it required taking the entire thing apart.
Here is the entire cluster pulled apart.
Here is the end result on the highway. The cluster is showing: Fuel gauge = 55L premium, speed = 100km/h, rpm = 2000 in 4th, economy = 10L/100kms, engine temp = normal, and no red lights :)
Even got the fuel economy gauge going again. It is the 1980s at its best, so sketchy but somewhat cool.
Next there was the only rust i had on my car, the trunk! Never worked with this before, but been doing my homework. Well at some point i got tired of reading about it and just took a crack at it. Learning by doing.
This is how minor rust looks like once all the carpeting was removed. Good project i reckon!
Worst spot with very deep rust holes and marks.
First steps taken and beginning to simply grind away the old rusty spots. Notice also the rust gone on the wheel arch to the right! Such a nice job
Bonus picture: Showing a jealous SL owned by the parent
Thanks for looking guys
