Beautiful car, I would buy it immediately if I had the money. Have you tried one of the well known "Exotic Car Dealers" in Europe? They ask some sort of fee for selling your car but it is much safer and they usually have lists with potential customers who may be interested.

I am the Vice-President of Ferrari Club Romania (http://origin.ferrari.com/English/MyFerrari/Pages/FOC_Romania_President_Welcome.aspx). The vehicle is sold to be replaced with the new F458 Italia. First registration is May 2008 (9.000km since).
More about the car:
- Carbo-ceramic brake system (398/350 mm - 6/4 pistons)
- F1 Gearbox (F1 Superfast 2)
- it has the 4 point safety belts
- it has the grey Scuderia stripes
- it has the steering wheel with upper crown in carbon fibre and leds

Yep I'm interested, however I think neither my bank manager or more importantly SWMBO would be.

How many months gap (approx) will it be between selling the Scuderia and taking delivery of the 458 Italia? Hope it's not too painful. At least you've got something great to look forward to

I don't know for sure. It should be spring next year BUT I have VERY mixed feelings about the 458. I am 90% sure it won't be the driver's car the Scuderia is. It's set to be a comfy car. "Telepathic" is the best word to describe the feeling you get after driving a Scuderia.
Also I don't like the back, the two round back lights and I fear that Scuderia's gearbox spoiled me for ever. I test drove a California and I believe Ferrari's "DSG" is better than Porsche's but the feeling of Scuderia's gearbox is unique.

The California was supposed to be a Maserati but when the development was almost finished, somebody at Ferrari decided it would fit the Ferrari model portfolio much better. No kidding.
The 458 should be a blast to drive, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. If you don't like it, I'm pretty sure you can sell it pretty fast, even at a premium. I'm also pretty sure that a 458 sport version won't be missing from Ferrari's model portfolio for long.

It took me 6 months to sell my 430 Spider and I had to absorb a hefty loss. I hope the market is better in Europe.
Regarding your apprehension over replacing the Scud with the 458, remember this; by all accounts the 458 is faster in most if not all performance test. However, I will acknowledge that the CA DSG left much to be desired. Hopefully, they tweaked the 458 version to be more performance oriented.
