Thanks RC. On my "universally negative" comment, I was reflecting what I had read in Autoweek, and recently in Excellence. My words may have been a bit strong, but Excellence recently said criticism of the styling has been sharp worldwide. I had also remembered your saying you were immensely disappointed when the first pictures were released.
I like the look from the front and back, but the side is a bit plain and will show dents very easily. I have a deposit down, but will withhold judgment. Glad to hear of so many orders--I was getting a bit tired of all the folks on the CFG Board downing Porsche and the car.

... I never said that I'm fully pleased with the design of the Cayenne. 
The Cayenne is a highly interesting product. It's specs (you find the details in the NEWS section) are impressive for a SUV and if the Cayenne succeeds to be reliable, which is still questionable due to the all new stuff used, it will be a blast.
My criticism towards the Cayenne goes in two directions:

I know it may be too soon to ask
but have you heard of any aftermarket tuners planed to do anything with the Cayenne?? Consider you are living so close to to Tuner. It will be interesting to see the potential tuning of a V8 Turbo engine from Porsche. At least in staight line, there will be some impressive numbers....

Yes, some Tuners are planning engine mods ... I already heard power figures around 500-550 HP for the Cayenne Turbo. There is however a big problem: even with these high power claims, the tuned Cayenne Turbo will not be faster than the stock car. Reason: tires.
I also know one Tuner who plans to hack the air suspension controlling software and offer a suspension upgrade through programming only. Sounds interesting.
Exclusive department is also prepared to offer several options for the Cayenne, maybe a powerkit with around 480 HP. A Multimedia system (rear passengers) with DVD player, etc. is planned too. The rumored Cayenne powerkit also indicates the possible power of an all new Turbo around 2005/2006: at least 500 HP.

hack the air suspension
sound very interesting, but will it be physically impossible to due the limit in the air hydrilic system to evenly or correctly distribute the damping pressure if lowered to certain ride height, I don't know how to explain. 
I am sure they can lower the ride height for looks but the stiffness and handling can be compromise. Given I don't have much knowdege on the air suspension from Porsche, i would love to hear more interesting news.. Thanks!

Do you have any idea how soon the exclusive options and/or powerkit would be available? I have a deposit down but doubt I am going to get one as there is no manual option yet. Do you know if a manual option is being considered instead of a solely tiptronic offering? Since its an SUV many people would not want a stick but it would still be nice to have a manual option even if it was only through exclusive.
