Actually, I'm not sure what you meant he was trying to say Alan. He was simply expressing his content with Ferrari selling their cars at the same price on both sides of the Atlantic. I agree with him on that.

My impression was that he was happy that we have to pay higher than normal prices. The smirk icon at the end told me that.

But, of course, it's up to Ferrari to charge what they want for their cars. I have no problem with that. So I agree with you.

Listen Alan, no need to get personal here. Crash exactly expressed what "this person" (didn't like that either ) was thinking. Ferrari prices are more or less the same in Europe and the US. And I like that. It's fair IMO.
You don't have to pay higher prices at all, neither for a Ferrari, where you pay the same, nor for any other (European) car, where you pay LESS than we do. So how could I be happy about something, that doesn't exist?

And the smirk icon is my favourite icon BTW, I would be very sad, if you took it away from me.

Ok, all a misunderstanding. I apologize. Sorry for the "this person" label, Rossi.

    Re: 997TT Price?

    Interesting debate!
I respect F430 very much! It is probably best Ferrari yet...
But, F430 and Gallardo are only good as fourth or fifth cars(in a family), IMO. 997(Carrera or Turbo) is excellent second car! You have 997t and Cayenne turbo, your wife some cabrio and this is it.
My friend owns F430 three months old with 1500km on clock!
I asked him why is he driving F430 so little? He said it is car only for pleasure-going to dinner with his girlfriend(he is not married) or driving sunday early morning on autobahn... For everyday use he has Audi S4 Avant, how about that? He want be mad if I said that his F430 is something like 'Holy Cow' to him. And he likes attention that he gets while driving F430 threw town...

Porsche is like your wife. She is not SO pretty but she will never betray you.
Ferrari on the other hand is like your girlfriend. She is very pretty but you dont know how much time you will have her...

Nick, do you drive your Ferrari to work every day? If so, good for you. If not, why don't you get a 997TT to use as your daily car? And hold on to it for 4 years so you don't have to worry (early on) with depreciation issues. And with the amount of money you have, what's a little depreciation.

Maybe Nick is actually on his Porsche dealer's 997TT waiting list.

    Re: 997TT Price?

No I drive either my Minicooper (love the car) or the Cayenne. If I owned a TT, I would not drive it to work. In my view, high performance sport cars are not everday work cars. They are impractical and are somewhat pretentious for people to take them to work. They sit in bumper to bumper traffic shifting to get to 20mph and then downshifting to get to zero over and over and over again. Imagine spending over $100,000 just to do that.

The 997 TT is going to be an over the top (Porsche will be trying to prove a point) sport car that will perform great and ride as though it has been anesthetized (AWD) .I would never buy the car because other than performance it will not have any other redeeming qualities.

    Re: 997TT Price?

Ahh but that is the beauty of the Porsche even a Turbo it is right at home in bumper trafic the car can be an everyday driver this I know , I have used them as everyday drivers for 25 years . They may be right when they say the Ferrari need to be your second car I do not know I have never owned one . I know one thing the Porsche has no problem bieng the main car , and the pretentious thing I drive a car for me and not for what people around me think that I could care less about . You do have a beautiful spider and if it bothers you driving in trafic or what people think if you take it to work that is unfortunate with the Porsche it is not like that . The Minicooper and the Cayenne do sound like great 2nd cars to drive . Again your new 430 is just so good looking ... wow ! You say you have a Cayenne as a 2nd well with the right options you can spend 100k on that car .

Sorry mate, perhaps sometimes my English is not as good as it should be.
(or at least means something different to you "natives" (that's another good one, eh? ) than to me ).

    Re: 997TT Price?

    Ja, Rossi

    Danke!

All the best to you and yours.
