    997S color choice

    Hi to all!
    I will order 997S(X51/PCCB/sport chassis) very soon(probably next week). My first choice of color was Basalt Black that I have on my Boxster S but, then I saw 993T in Viola Metallic(Porsche code 54). It is, IMO very nice color!
    My question is do any of you own or was able to see 997 in that color? If I order Viola waiting time will be around 6 months I am afraid...

    You can order that color on a 997S in Croatia? I only found one pic of viola metallic on the net, but it was a bad shot due to the lighting, so couldn't get the full effect. Sounds like it would be nice though. Those are some nice specs, X51, PCCB, -20mm.. Im jealous. I've always been partial to black cars, and have a black 997s now.. black is just elegant and nasty IMHO. Good luck, can't lose either way!

    I have few pictures but, owner of that 993t is not very happy with idea about posting them here...
    It is very dark purple-almost black,depending on light.
    Very nice color, IMO!

    Even with the pic, I think it's one of those colors that you have to see in person to fully appreciate.. I imagine it's beautiful though, just hard to tell in the pics because you really can't see the metallic effect or the change due to the sun.. Post pics when you get it, either way gonna be a sweet ride... if you do go with the viola, I'm sure it would be a unique car

    Looks like a color I want to see in person. Most likely one of those colors you either love or hate. Hey go for it as I'm sure you will not see another one in this color.

    What a gorgeous car. I'd reserve judgement on the color until seeing at least a few more pics or in person, but the car looks hot. Who ever said the 996 was not a good looking 911?!?!?!

    It looks like a really nice color, but I would worry that it looks purple, just like meridian metallic looked pink.

    I'd worry about resale. If you love the colour and intend keeping the car for a long time then go for it. However, if you intend changing it in a few years time then it could be judged to be wasted outlay and might even reduce the amount of interest in a private sale.

    Then again I've hear my colour combination (arctic/black) dissed big time in other threads so what do I know.

    My plan is to go for Natural Dark Gray Leather interior with Carbon full trim also,Adaptive Seats etc.
    As I said I like Viola Metallic very much. Only thing is will I be patient enough to wait almost 6 month for 911S in Viola??

    6 months is simply to looong for waiting 911S in Viola.

    gt silver/ black....after looking for months....this color looked awesome on the dealers lot.....lovely shade of silver...really

    I've seen that car in real life and the pictures don't do the color justice. It's a vibrant violet sheen.. very dark but sets a beautiful accent in the sunlight. And that's with the car being dusty and nowhere near clean even.

    Well, I decided to go for Basalt Black Metallic. Delivery is March 2006. For Viola is is July 2006! Too much time...
