    Anybody experience this effect?

Yesterday after my concert at the Philharmonic where I took my 20-year old model date that is obssessed with cars (mostly Japanese imports and American muscle)...we went to the valet parking garage near Lincoln Center. As I was giving my stub to the attendant...

    AJ: "Do you like Volkswagens?"

Girl: "Yeah! I love Golfs and Jettas, they are cute. Is that what you drive? It's German."

AJ: "Hmmm I guess you could say I drive one..."

So we wait in the garage for about 5 min, watching different cars get pulled up - some American cars, a couple of BMW's, some VW's and Benzes...and suddenly, like the Batmobile out of the Batcave comes a nice shiny Black Porsche (it was my 987S).

We stand there for a moment looking at it. I stood there pretending it wasn't mine, and after several seconds then said, "Okay, let's go." She seemed shocked. I opened the passenger's door for her and she sat inside. As I was ready to put it into first gear and pull away...

    AJ: "You ready to go?"

    K: "I'm wet right now."

I was highly amused to say the least, that she said something like that (talk about a car being worth the money hm?).

I later explained to her the link between VW and Porsche, and she was impressed. Then she heard the engine/exhaust and it was smooth sailing from there

I let her drive home after I stopped by to show her a Carrera GT in the showroom of my dealership - sorry guys, I couldn't resist, she was too hot to say no to, and she drove stick.

Have any of you gotten similar reactions when having a girl in your car for the first time?

    Re: Anybody experience this effect?

    Dude,
Awesome story! I'm afraid everytime I've tried to play it smooth with the 911, it's never worked, it is vain though.
I have also tested several times the pussibility of the 911 in Texas with Ron, but again, no luck.
Maybe we're just too ugly for that
We didn't have PCCB though, I think that's why. Chicks love PCCB, makes them really bubbly!

i dont want to be a party pooper, but dont you think when she saw your porsche the had visions of $$$$$ dancing in her head? I'm sure she liked the car but I can also bet she was thinking about the amount your bank account

    Re: Anybody experience this effect?

My passenger seat is bone dry. But then again, I have been married for 12 years!

I told her I cleaned toilets for a living and was struggling to get by which is why I purchased a loaded 987 S

I can't even imagine what she would say if I had a 911 pull up!

That's a nice story and all, but the main question here is....did you take advantage of the "wetness"....if you know what I mean.

I think some of the context is being misunderstood. She didn't say it like she was some escort/porn star...she said very matter-of-fact-ly which is why I was amused by what she said. I actually have pictures of her in the car with the biggest smile on her face but I don't have the USB cable to go from my Razr to the PC.

And as for taking advantage of the "wetness" -- I make women work for it, the car causes that now, I will be the cause of it later.

Good grief, how could you talk like this on a public forum?
Have you ever even kissed a girl aj?
Please tell me this story is a joke. I'm sure it won't make me popular saying this but she sounds like a complete airhead and you sound like a total dick. Are you 12?

    Re: Anybody experience this effect?

Just before i met my current fiancee I had a similar experience - I was out with a younger girl (well 10 years while I was 29) and just happened to ask her whether she thought I should get the Porsche! I was surprised at how impressionable the sexy young gal was!!! Great fun though and very hot!!! Unfortunately there is none of that allowed now I'm engaged!!

I'm sure you're going to have moments just like that one in the near future with your gorgeous baby.

    Re: Anybody experience this effect?

Hell... I get wet when I get in the car!

Next time the wife rides with me, I'll asker if it made her wet!

Last week we did about 120 mph and she had a big smile on her face. Before (other cars) she'd say "slow down" if I went over 80!

    Re: Anybody experience this effect?

Her remark is a little gross, IMHO (sorry to be a downer). Also, I can't imagine any woman I know (or would date) remarking emphatically about the car in anyway; they'd notice it (Porsche=financial success=quality) but would either not comment or would casually and tersely compliment my choice in cars.

I think this girl reacted the way she did cause she has this passion for cars and racing which totally shocked me because like you MMD, I don't think I know anyone else that knows her cars like the back of her hand. I mean this girl was reciting 'Ring times for many cars off the top of her head and talking to me about really technical aspects of car components. I know some of this stuff, but to hear it come from a beautiful girl that seems so in LOVE with motorsport, I could see the comment being complete reasonable, if not a little too raw.

Of course, I took it as a flattering compliment.

aj, great ROI from the Boxster....amazing what driving a sportscar around Manhattan does for chicks accustomed to subways and cabs...

Not sure why the $1000 comment would throw you off...dinner, few drinks & table at a hot club easily reaches near/tops $1K for a date in Manhattan.....after all, most married dudes (even w/prenups) will end up paying more on a "per use" basis for arguably less-than-model quality vs guys who prefer to just date the latest model....
