Surprised by the Taycan numbers. Are these figures actual sales to customers or taken by dealer figures? My local dealership struggles to sell any new Taycans. Used ones seem to move a little better due to the massive discount as they are former loaner cars for the most part.
I've actually thought of getting a Cross Turismo, but the depreciation is so great. Then with used ones the battery tech being outdated in the future worries me as well.

I feel your pain on the depreciation aspect.
When I traded my 2023 Taycan GTS Sport Turismo for the Mercedes EQS, I took a real beating. Turns out there was a US$ 50,000 per car incentive from Porsche for dealers to dispose of any Taycan inventory before the new-tech (MY 2025?) models hit our shores. Just brutal for the depreciation of old-tech Taycans, no matter how new.

Depends on the EV.
some are so good others simply can’t compete. They lose making them even when sold at retail. Of course they would like to return to the good old days and pretend that EVs simply can’t make it.
This is what the death of some car companies looks like.

watt:The market knows and demonstrates the silliness of EV. It's depreciation, running costs, tyres, repairs all ridiculous, besides the toxicity.
My model 3 lost half its value after 4.5 years and 74k miles. Still worth $26k on a trade but zero issues. Running cost over all those miles was one new set of pilot sport tires and windshield washer fluid refill. Total electric cost less than $1000. I simply don’t get any of your argument - very acceptable depreciation (car might last a million miles), insanely cheap running cost, constant free updates and more functionality, best in the world safety, best software, proven durability and insane speed and performance.
My annual insurance for both my 997 turbo and Tesla is $900 - because the EV is so safe and can’t be stolen. Solar power is capable of charging my car so I don’t get the toxic argument given new battery chemistry which uses no kobalt. The future for electric energy and storage is vastly more appealing than petroleum. Am I wrong? Do I lie?
As opposed to guaranteed maintenance expenses, expensive fuel, toxic emissions, slow performance and inevitable massive depreciation.
but - here is the argument. EVs are ‘silly’. Don’t be silly, be a good sheep!

get an RS allocation by buying three Taycan Turbo S cars! Lose only $225k instantly!
year old 2023 top of the line Taycan with delivery miles are worth less than $100k.
do people not want EVs? Or is there a plaid elephant in the room?
