A Porsche that flies!

Amongst the diverse successes of Porsche, there is PES, Porsche Engineering Services.
They did the mighty Merc E500, the Audi RS2, several Opels, still today, they manufacture the Ferrari spyder roof (CTS) etc etc etc.
One thing a lot of people don't know is that they developed all the Airbus planes cockpit!!!

Pretty cool huh!

Fanch, Porsche also did the bridge (cockpit) for the CIA ship the "Glomar Explorer." Google it, its an amazing story.

Light aircraft they have powered include the Mooney-Porsche and a small LTA Blimp. They also do a lot of work for Rheinmettal's land warfare products.

Porsche PES does a lot of work for other automobile makers that is never made public. They even have a office and PES center in Michigan.

The crew seats in the Airbus are Porsche designed also. In that picture above, notice the 944 surplus seat fabric.

Notice the HOTAS? (Hands On Throttle And Stick)Those are the pistol grip like controllers on both sides of the cockpit. The HOTAS and fly by Wire on "Fifi" uses American software.

Mercedes Benz patented a similar system for automobiles that
works great. There system controls steering angle,speed and
brakes. No country will certify it for consumers yet.
