    911, and badged as such ....

    Does anyone (particularly in the UK) know why there are some 996s driving around this country badged "911" (like some users on this forum have as their avatars) - rather than the correct "Carerra", "Carerra 4S", "turbo" etc?

    Perhaps they are imports from countries where this is the actual badge? If so, which countries does this apply to?

    The Millenium 996 Carrera edition had that badge I believe, and don't know if the 40th anniv 996 version as well. Also some owners think it looks better that way and change the badges themselves.

    I also badged my car with the 911. IMO it looks much metter than with standard bagding.

    The factory badge (Pic 1) on my Carrera 4 just didn't do it for me....so I made my own which is made up of the factory letters on pre 74 911s

    What i know is that the 40 th anniversary not only had the 911 desigation BUT also a small label down, like the avatar in the first post of this thread,that said 40th anniversary with very small engraved letters on it.

    Now i ve been thinking of changing this common carrera label to something more customized

    If you're asking me about the bumperettes, the bumper is a Euro one.

    Jake, I couldn't stand those coat hooks and I have put an American Flag on every car I own. The PORSCHE logo are the same letters that used be on the pre 74 Porsches.

    And you haven't even seen the front!!!
