I will be visiting Germany in late September (Sept 22-28 or so).l I must be in Hamburg on Sept 26 & 27th, and would like to do something exciting Porsche-wise while I'm in the country. What should I do? SHould I visit the factory in Leipzig? Is it open on Sundays? Can private track experiences be arranged? Does anyone have any good stories of similar visits to share?

Regarding Grant's rental tip with avis at FRA: that's right. minimum age is 25, with 3 years holding a drivers licence.
website is only available in german language, though

have you guys checked the prices at elite... something.
A carrera S is 1.200 EUR for a day. A day !!!!
Rent the car for 70 days and it's the same cost as buying one. Ridiculous. What a rip off.

Fritz,
it's just funny that Avis can offer that car for much less. Actually all major car rentals used to have these cars in stock, Europcar and Sixt massively reduced those numbers!
In fact I was one of the lucky few to have a rental-911 here in Germany - for free!
