    Will do.

    Re: 992 Sport Classic

As promised. Barely driven yet as it has gone straight to detailer for side decals in the same colour as the factory painted bonnet stripes (no big circle though). Will post more impressions in due course in the Spring etc.The exterior colour looks much better in person than I expected and the interior is super special. Please spare us the "I know which Porsche Centre that is"  comments heart  .  Thanks kiss.

    Re: 992 Sport Classic

I'm hearing that the additional dealer markups on this car are approaching the sticker price.

    Re: 992 Sport Classic

Yesterday at my dealer they had on display almost the identical car except it had the side markings including the large circular number. It's a special looking car.kiss The day it came in it was purchased by a Porsche VIP who is a collector.

BTW, though markup are now part of the US landscape, what I learned is the amount of the markup is daily being lowered. For an example, a GT4RS was sold by the dealer for over $100,000 markup. They have nine more coming into the dealership and they are struggling to find buyers willing to pay $70,000 over MSRP. Also, the dealership is stuck with an oversupply of used cars causing it to sell them below what they payed for it.

What goes around comes around.broken heart

New GT4 RS go for around 230k EUR in Germany...this is basically what a GT3 RS costs (if you can get one at MSRP). There are production slots (GT4 RS, GT3 RS) available for good customers if you're willing to wait, not for the Sport Classic of course though.

So your dealer has been stealing customer data to falsely create at least 10 GT4RS orders.....

All GT cars are sold orders as oppose to stock orders, so they can't even explain it that way.

    Re: 992 Sport Classic

Nick, the new management spec's every GT car and sets the price for each one. Buyers are invited to bid on the car. To my knowledge, customers do not spec Porsche GT cars at my dealership. The dealer takes all the allocations for himself.  The result is all the GT cars are loaded with options.Smiley

It's why I'm turning my back to Porsche.

That's disgusting... and Porsche is just as responsible for allowing it.

Can't you just change the dealership, or are they all the same?

I'm told my dealership is the only dealer in southern California that does this. For me to go to another dealer I would have to start from the beginning in establishing relationship. In the past twenty years I have purchased 12 Porsche's from my dealer.

Also, the reality is I don't find any of the new Porsche models that interesting compared to my 991.2 GT3 RS. Smiley

Dealers aren't allowed to 'spec' cars. When GT car orders are entered into the system, all cars have to have a proper buyer, i.e. not dealer. They are stealing customer information from their database to pretend they are valid customer orders. Those clients whose info got stolen don't even know they have a car 'on order'.

It had happened to me before, my previous dealer ordered a Targa Heritage under my name without me knowing and that buyer proceed to flipped the car and got me in trouble.

This issue needed to be escalated to PCNA.

    Your dealer Porsche SD?

    Re: 992 Sport Classic

    Yes

Nick, I don’t believe Porsche cares. They could put a stop to huge ADM but they don’t. Ford and GM are taking action against dealers who pad the MSRP. Ferrari doesn’t allow it and if caught a dealer loses allocations.

As far as Porsche is concerned, their customer is the dealer and not the buying public.Smiley
