    No Sunroof possible? Great!

    From what I can tell, there will not be a sliding sunroof option on the Cayman (please speak up if you disagree). Looks to be a difficult fit with the hatchback and short roof section. The 944 had to have a removable targa, since there was nowhere to store a slided sunroof. I love it! I need the headroom and sliding sunroofs are bad for headroom. From what I hear, the 997 is not even available for sunroof delete in the US, so this Cayman is welcome news.

    While I was thinking about this, the 928 was a hatchback and had a sliding sunroof (and terrible headroom)

    ..and the good news for those who would want a sunroof on the cabrio is: the Cayman cabrio already exists :-)))

    True the Cayman probably won't have any sort of a sunroof,
    but it is a feature I like and one that could have been easily fitted if Porsche wanted to.....as my 928 has one and has a much shorter roof than the Cayman, although the curvature is different. Take a look at the Audi TT coupe....many people have added a 3rd party sunroof to these and they look and perform great.

    Its too bad that Porsche couldn't make everyone happy by making it an option, but not made just about every car with one as most 944,928,and 911s were. They should just make Caymans without one unless ordered......or come out with a CS model with no possible sunroof and other enhancements for the track. As I see it now.....the Cayman isn't going to be the ultimate track animal anyway, so why take features away that most of its street compitition will have.

    Some of latest pictures of the 997 based GT3 show it to have a sunroof....which is kind of stupid in that car, but who knows if it will make it into production that way or not.

    BTW.....the 928 could be ordered with lowered seats and the seat mounts actually had two positions to accommodate taller drivers, even an "extended hub" steering wheel could be ordered in most years. Lots of ways to make a tall driver happy in a 928, but examples without sunroofs are still sought after for the slightly lighter weight.
