Very elegant looking and I understand finely engineered car. Next to the Porsche 997 TSCab (which they'll hopefully make in the near future), this is the car I lust after (in a supercharged/volante-convertible version). Any rumors on when a charged and open-top version might be released?

I'll probably be the first to say this, but this car bores me to tears, and that's just looking at it in pics. Nothing strikingly new or fresh about this car. 911 always has and wil win, as a matter of fact i'd fancy a Cayman a good deal more than this "Garbajjje"...however you pronounce the name of this car...

thanks for the picture's ron! to be honest i didn't like the vantange when they brought out press pictures of the yellow one! it just didn't suit an Aston Martin! I think A.M looks great in that exact colour you posted! The rear looks really broad and strong, the front and side lines flow so nice and smooth too!

This car rocks, (the AM DB9)..I saw a blue example on the road, it was driving up a hill, and the sound was very loud and sporty...I thought this car would sound as the old db7, but it sounded like the vanquish
I like the zagato...can't remember if its a db7 though

Interesting.
The photo of the car in the body assembly shop shows that the aluminum space frame is not painted in the exterior body color, as would be the case with a conventional pressed steel monocoque.
Anybody here know if it is possible to do a factory tour of the Aston Martin facility?

What a gorgeous car! I really love it.
I know I'm mostly assuming since the testdrives of the final product have not happened yet, but I think it will be a great car to drive too, maybe not the involvement of the 997 and its precision, but with such a beauty, who cares!
And being Aston, that V8 should make a nice music too!

Despite what Aston suggests, I think it's a different market. You aren't hunting for performance per dollar here, as it should be well over $100kUSD. People who want an AM and its positive embodiments, good performance, and a bit of style will buy this car.
Obviously this isn't going to be a track star, but a street car, first and foremost.
Though a lot of people don't buy 911s just for performance, so I imagine Aston will have no trouble selling all they make.

Trouble is, I wasn't thinking of going along there and speccing an AM.
I saw a chassis at the Frankfurt auto show. A piece of art.
Now maybe I could go along to Lotus instead, spec an Elise as a Sunday driver, and visit their factory instead.

Which will be quite a new situation for Aston Martin.
Exactly. In fact, I suspect Ferrari shoppers sick of the treatment they get from the dealers and yet desiring exclusivity, will be the more likely candidates to 'downgrade' to the DB7. Much better looking car in my opinion as well.
