My "gut" tells me all synthetics will have similar performance. But honestly, what possible benefit can there be to using anything other than what's already in the sump? Saving a little money? Personally, I'd stick with Mobil 1. The opportunity cost of not having to think about it is the cost of two quarts of oil. Minimal really.

I don't think Mobil 1 necessarily IS any bettter. It might even be worse. But you'll never have an objective answer one way or the other, just marketing hype from the oil company's advertsing departments. My point is that Porsche recommends Mobil 1 every 20000 miles. And since the cost difference is negligible it's simply not worth wasting any mental energy on figuring out which synthetic is better. Just use Mobil 1 and know that's taken care of.
