I don't think you would suffer from diminished value if Porsche replaced your engine. The fear is that the "numbers won't match". That is, if you run a report on your car at some time in the future, it will show that it doesn't have the original engine. I believe that when Porsche changes out the entire engine under warranty they also change the records to indicate the new engine serial number. A report in the future would indicate the replacement engine as the "original".

That assumes you keep the car long enough where the buyer cares about matching numbers. If you sell it within the next few years nobody would even check.

So, while you may deserve a new car because of the hassle this one has given you, I don't think you can get it because of a potential diminished value. If done properly you won't even know the replacement has been done and you now have a engine with less miles on it.
