    June Automobile Issue

    Automobile Magazine is reporting the cayenne facelift will be in early 2006. The V-6 will go to 280hp, the s to 360 and the turbo to 500.In 2008 a turbo s with 550hp.Also says major revision to rear, new headlights and more aggressive front bumper.Hopefully the hesitation will be fixed as well.

    Can you comment on Automobile's claim? I know you said in a previous thread that the facelift won't come until summer of 2006 as a 2007 MY, but many magazines are saying the facelift is coming MY 2006 for sure. Any insight would be helpful. Have an incoming MY 05 CT. We know the dealer well, so can cancel the car anytime. However, if there are no significant changes (like a facelift) for MY 06, we would like to take the 05. If there is a facelift for MY 06, then we would prefer to wait. I know most of your "rumors" have been correct, so would like to hear what you think about these magazines. Thanks.

    Hi, I asked my dealer before I ordered my CT about the rumors of a "facelift" and they said they knew nothing about it. If one were coming it would be only end of 2006... as A430v asked, could someone maybe give a more rock solid time line? thnx

    I was at my dealer in May ready to place an order, and was told to wait until June, as the facelift was hitting MY2006. The sales guy talked about the spy photos, etc., and said he got his info from a Porsche rep. So I am content to wait and see. If there is no facelift for '06, I'm going for the BMW 4.8is

    We heard about a spring/summer 2006 facelift introduction.
    Official announcement could be even end of this year or early 2006.
    I doubt the Cayenne Turbo power figure, I heard something around 470 but the V6 seems to be one of the models which gets more power. The 360 HP claim for the "S" sound OK to me too, it could be even slightly more.
    We don't have many details about the changes, we heard something about lighter doors and other weight "enhancements", reducing the overall weight on the Turbo for example by almost 80-100 kg. We also heard about the new frontlight assembly, smaller air inlets, improved aerodynamics, slightly lower fuel consumption especially on the Turbo, LED rear lights and some other minor changes.

    Right now Weissach is almost like Fort Knox, a lot of things are going in but almost nothing comes out.

    Thanks Christian. So sticking to your previous thread, in your opinion and according to your "inside" sources, the facelift won't come until MY 2007 correct? If that is the case and the answer you give, then I'll stick with the 2005 MY. Don't worry, if the facelift does surprisingly come in 2006 and we get the 2005, I won't get angry at you. hehehe. Just want to hear your opinion because I value it. Just like when I asked you whether I should get the M3 or Boxster S a long time.

    I have seen the spy photo's as well, which is why I consulted with my dealer. Maybe they just hear about everything last here in South Africa

    AND DON'T BUY THE BMW 4.8iS!!! It was the biggest mistake I have made in purchasing a car!! The throttle respone is so unsmooth, the brakes are either "on" or "off" so to speak. The handling for a sports suspension setup is just not worth it either IMO.

    I even crossed out my own 4.8iS just to emphasize how much I dislike it!

    Hi Nick,

    all information we have is that the facelift is due around MY 2007 (spring/summer 2006).

    A lot of people are expecting a substantial power upgrade for the Cayenne Turbo, this is not going to happen.
    500 HP are for the powerkit only, we expect the facelift of the Cayenne Turbo to have around 470 HP.
    We're also not sure about the rumoured weight loss, we get too much confusing information from our sources right now.
