    BAR-Honda Banned for 2 Races

    Well its official... BAR-Honda has been banned for 2 races due to weight violation that took place in Imola 2 weeks ago. Also their results in that race will be wipped out. Now they are out of both Barcelona and Monaco.

    Dont mean to nitpick but if you go to the BAR website and look at the teams case as presented to the ICO, it seems like they should have won.

    They decided now that they won't appeal the FIA ban since they don't stand a chance of winning the case, so they picked up all their stuff at the Spanish GP and left.

    The FIA is crazy. Following BAR statement, the car needs the second fuel tank to work. Why did FIA insisted to see the weight of a car in a situation that it can not run?
    If the car needs the second fuel tank full to work, the weight should be taken in that situation. If it isn't, then FIA was right.
    Hope that Honda won't leave Formula 1

    I believe that the extra tank itself was not the problem, other cars use similar systems, but rather that they cheated hidding the fuel in that tank in order to bypass the weight limit, and lied about it.

    Here is a quote from FIA president:
    "The facts in this case are very clear," said FIA president Max Mosley after the verdict was announced. "The team was asked to pump the fuel out of their car. They left 15 litres in the tank and told us it was empty. Under the circumstances, we feel they have been treated rather leniently."

    An interesting thing is in BAR's case to the FIA, it is stated that there is no specific rule about weight "after the race". They say that the rule only counts during the race and neither car was underweight during the race.
