I was not even entertaining silver at all (basalt black or cobalt blue) until I saw a GT silver 997 next to an artic silver. IMHO (and please remember opinions about color are...well...personal...), the GT silver is much more complex than the artic. The artic silver looked really washed out on a bright day compared to the more "steel" looking GT silver. The GT silver is amazing in a variety of lighting situations and is the only silver that I think does NOT looked washed out or dull in bright daylight. Then again, it does cost more...
Then again, whatever you pick, you still have one of the coolest sports cars on the planet...

My dealer had an Artic 997 S next to a GT Silver one. I thought the GT Silver was going to give off a much brighter reflection instead it looked very battle ship grey . The Artic on the other hand reflected the sun intensely. Whenever the curves of the body meet a high point the Artic Silver made it almost difficult to look at because it was so reflective. It not only looked brighter and richer in the sun it hands down looks better in the shade. The GT Silver in the shade looks very, similar to the seal. They're both really nice color's but the Artic is deeper, more interesting to look at and has a richness that GT Silver does not. It's all very subjective of course and you can't go wrong with either color.
btw: Not that anyone accuse me of copying alin2 because I have a very similar story about comparing an Artic Silver 997 next to a GT Silver. I posted about it in the thread : "Great example of GT Silver (on a CGT)" on March 10th. #84152

I do agree with Alin2, the choice of a Colour is very personal..., no question about that ! I agree with the fact that GT Silver looks darker in the shade, a bit like Seal Grey. But I don't agree when Stradale says that Arctic looks richer then GT in various SUNLIGHT Conditions, NO WAY !! GT Silver has a Steel Glance in it, I have NEVER seen on any other Silvers. IMHO, all who see THAT the other way around, NEED GLASSES !! Sorry
