    Watch how you get seated!

    Been looking at some used 996s (turbos!)and noticed (again) how the seat leather gets really worn out where your left "gluteus maximus" (right GM in non-USA) slides against the seat during the self-seating procedure.

    Long ago I retrained myself not to slide into the seat this way so that leather portion of the seat doesn't take a beating.

    Just thought I'd mention this so guys with new cars might decide to learn new ways of getting into them.

    Sad to see an otherwise flawless pre-owned interior so obviously beat up.

    This is a good recommendation. I know this question is stupid, but how you drivers generally get in your sports car. Do you have a technique to slide in elegantly?

    Forget seating "elegantly." The easy way is to turn your back to the door and seat sideways and then rotate raising your legs. Exit by reversing the procedure. This technique may not be "elegant" but saves on your body and the car seat.

    I second this motion

    Tall guys (I have a 36" inseam) have a bad time getting into low cars in any event. If one's leg and torso muscles are not well toned, most end up "falling" backwards into the car from some safe butt-height

    Place your left palm on the door sill before sitting down or getting up and use your straightened arm to " lift " your rear over the seat bottom side bolster. My P-car's driver's seats have always still looked brand new on the day they were traded in with this technique.

    I hate the way its hard not to srape the door sill and speaker grill when exiting the car.

    Then you must of have been preparing for your CGT cause getting in and out without hitting everything with your feet or just dropping like a bag of potatoes in the seat is no easy task compared to a 911!!

    BTW, did you get it yet?, last I remeber it was on the vessel already.

    Well, ... it used to be "ONVESL", but now it's "ONINTERCITY" (the overland transport firm)!

    The dealer says it will arrive there tomorrow morning

    I hope I can remember to not be overcome with cool and take lots of pictures

    P.S. Getting me in and out of the CGT is nowhere close to as bad as the 962 was. I'll just get busy at the gym if I need some more muscle tone to make it work

    Fantastic! Can't wait to see pics of the signal yellow CGT with red brake calipers, and to hear your impressions on the CGT when you finnally get to drive if of the lot
