My neighbour had a C 63 Black Series, sold it. Got himself an old 911 (C model) and Karmann Ghia (oh boy do I hate this car, my best friend in university had one and it was a nightmare to drive in but he wanted a 911 and couldn't afford one, so this was for him the next best thing, now he has a 911 2.4...I think) instead.
When I asked him why he sold the C63 BS, he told me that this car was too much for him, too fast, not his thing. It looked amazing, red with black accents.

Great to see Mercedes must have sales support for these to keep making them, though I see very few around here.... western Canada, land of the pickups. But on looking a the Canadian site, all the E class AMGs are 4matic, in fact Mercedes no longer sell anything except maybe the V12s here that is not AWD.

Haven’t stood still on the C63 front, 2000km further. Very happy with it thus far, the boy has approved it on the school run yesterday as well. Apparently it’s quicker but more silent, a keen observation: ☺️
It has received its vitamins as well, cannot say much on how it feels as I cannot put anything down in the rain. 😂 The numbers are wonderful in a C-class though.
Stock measured: 486hp/697Nm
Remapped: 583hp/853Nm(!) (have the charts if interested)

Question to those owning a FL C63 with the MCT gearbox, when shifting up during loss of traction (i.e. in a drift for example) it seems to cut engine power. ESP fully switched off, do you experience the same? Pretty irritating if that's indeed meant to do that as the gears are so short. The previous 7G ironic just seamlessly shifted up during a drift.

@RC can you quickly go out and molest your wife's cab for 10 minutes to give me an answer to the above?
It might be due to the remap, in that case it has to go back to erase that fault. Unfortunately I can't compare before/after as I only did autobahn before remap.

It might also be the ESP intervening despite ESP off (holding button 3 seconds), the little symbol of the twisty road above 'ESP OFF' still flickers when the wheels spin. Strange...
Edit:
It's the ESP apparently, here the light doesn't flicker when ESP OFF. Mine still does, to be adjusted ASAP.

Sorry, I don't have access to my wife's car right now (she is driving to patients all the time and I have to work until the evening). Can it wait until the weekend? We have lots of work now and she is always driving her car because of the whole medical stuff she has in it (incl. defribillator, etc.). This is why it is difficult to spontaneously swap cars.
Another problem is: She has summer tires. It is pretty cold and rainy here right now (6°C) and traction is bad anyway. Maybe on Sunday (no rain, 9°C) but I cannot promise.

Porker:Enigma solved, it's an ESP-software update that FL C63's required that has this one hasn't done yet.
Oh snap, I just saw this post.
Glad the problem is fixed.

Yes, got it when checking the VIN nr with the MB dealer. It had below outstanding recall, perhaps worth checking on yours:

Porker:Turns out 853Nm in an RWD C-Class is frankly hilarious. It struggles to drive straight, doesn't matter if it's dry or wet. Love it.
I hope your wife will show the same enthusiasm.

Anyone know how to disable that fake sound module in the interior? It drives me nuts, the car sounds great on the outside but on the inside I get this 4-cilinder/Taycan blare through the speakers. 🥶

Ferdie:How is it implemented, as a separate module or within the stereo system? I only know of people which have removed/deactivated these modules on Porsche and Volkswagen models.
It’s a separate module I read somewhere, located somewhere under the glovebox if I read correctly. I’ll have to ask around on an AMG forum. I really don’t understand why manufacturers feel tempted to use the sound generators, it sounds so synthesized. 🥶

Porker:Will be run in next week, Basel-Nice-Brussels. Excactly what it's made for.
This one didn't last long . I somehow couldn't quite get to grips with it, the OPF-sound, the artificial sound in the interior, the ESP that somehow kept intervening when everything was fully off. No... Better not spend too long with a car you're not fully satisfied with I think, so I've switched to an E63 S instead (pre-OPF). Collecting somewhere next week.
