I ordered my 997s Cab with sports exhaust - April build May delivery. Dealer told me the sports exhaust was available for the March build, but due to lack of parts ,it would not be available for my build.The dealer has ordered the sports exhaust and has offered to install it at the same price as the option price $2400. They also gave me $1000 off the MSRP.

Call me cynical, but PCNA has communicated to the dealers since the 997 intro (and again as recently as today) that the sport exhaust wasn't available for ordering and they'd communicate when it was available--which they haven't yet. Seems to me some dealers might be stringing buyers along saying it's about to become available, or it was available for a certain month's production, but just not on your car!

A general question on the 997S exhaust. Is the Porche sport exhaust that much better then say the Fabspeed Maxflo exhaust or the exhausts offered by many other after market providers? I have ordered a 997S and plan to replace the exhaust for a more throaty sound. Has anyone else replaced the exhaust on a 997S? If so what are your thoughts? Thanks.

I'm not sure about the porsche sports exhaust being any better than an after market exhaust. I liked the idea of being able to switch between the standard and sports mode. Sometimes I enjoy a quiet ride, but its also puts a big smile on my face to push the car to MY limits and hear that roar. I'm hope to get the best of both with the sports exhaust
