Hamilton is a star driver, as he has always been from his karting days when he was discovered by Ron Dennis.
Bottas is a professional driver.
P.S. Talking of Ron Dennis, IMO he is the British equivalent of Enzo Ferrari. Only difference is that in Italy Ferrari is still revered as a huge legend, whereas in the UK Ron Dennis is a has-been who just got a CBE.

Hamilton's skills as a driver has no peers. It doesn't matter who is his teammates.
Heck, even a 2 time world champ Alonso was embarrassed by him.
Mercedes needs a reliable points getter alongside to gather manufacturer points and Bettas is doing a fine job with that.
Hamilton won't drive forever, He will get his 7th this year, and he might stay on for one more year to try for 8th. it will be more interesting to see who would be the heir for his seat when he retires. It could be one of the young guns on the grid right now, or it could be someone from Mercedes' junior program. Ocon? Russell? Norris? <- outside shot as he is the home grown McLaren guy, but then again Hamilton was in such a position before too.

Still think that's a mistake. Daddy Stroll could have asked his son to take a couple years off while Perez finished out the contract, then he can slot back in to drive along side perhaps Vettel. Baby Stroll is still young, plus, that other seat will always have his name on it.
I wonder if Perez got paid extra to leave the team.

VB is only able to keep up with LH because the car is that easy to drive on the limit!
Valtteri is a nice guy with a beard, but that's it...
It's obvious that in contradiction to this this year's RB Racing car can only be mastered by someone like MV and therefore he has always a huge time gap to AB (who's for sure a good driver as proven LY).
