Do you know your ONVESL date?
Ships to the west coast pass thru the Panama canal and offload in San Diego.
JasonF- anybody salesperson in your dealership can check status of your order... if its onvesl date is 12-01 it should be on the Cosmo Sprit and arrive in Baltimore approx 12/14

Hahaha. If it helps, I know for a fact there are no problems at the Suez Canal. 
Mine is in transit, too, I think, but the dealer has not been able to confirm it. It was built on 23 November and I think it's on the M/V Cosmo Spirit--one of the oldest RO/RO ships I know of as it was built in 1985 for Nissan. Old bitch needs to retire. I guess Cosmo is passing the Grand Banks now, landing in Baltimore between 12-14 December. Yippy! Hope none of that Nissan grease rubs off on my car.

There is also a web cam where you watch them unload your car. Porsches typically hitch a ride with VWs and Audis on VW Transport boats. Your dealer should be able to tell you which ship your car is on. And if you are as crazy as I was, you can even watch it go through the Panama Canal.
I was lucky, the ship that my car was on was the Utopia Ace. When it picked up my car in Germany, it made the local news because the ship was brand new and the largest in the world. So I was able to see it leave Germany, saw it go through the canal, and then arrive in San Diego.

Remember when that container ship carrying all those Volvos sank in the Atlantic? Ugh, I hate to even think about it. Unfortunately for Volvo, most of the cars were the new XC90, very popular with huge wait lists.

Sometimes they do that, other times they will stop off in Mexico and pickup more cars.

Remember they are just hitching a ride with VW and the majority of VWs entering the US come from Mexico. The ships only carry a couple of hundred Porsches where there are thousands of Audis and VWs on them.
