    Has anyone put a SILVER crest to replace the colored one ?

    I'm waiting on a 997 and yes I'm bored. Thinking of getting one of THESE for the hood...



    any thougts? Anyone have pics? I already bought the clear side markers !!!

    I would never deface the hood OEM crest. This is a car co. which does not shout its brand all over the car.

    OTOH, I would not spend a dime buying colored crests, elsewhere in the car, when the factory default is monochrome.

    you might be a candidate for buying a Honda Accord which also doesn't stand out in a crowd.

    Come on... if you weren't into having something nice and different then you would've ruled out Porsches long ago. You seem to be fixated on this... if Volvo made a sports car would you buy it?

    Don't care about the crowd. Or where you talking to Adias ??? I just like the black and silver all over look. My 2000 996 is ALL silver and black. For some reason in 2000 they made the crest on the steering wheels SILVER instead of colored. Which I thought looks really cool.

    Shifter kart racing season is over and I'm waiting on the 997 - so I'm bored and thinking up ways to make useless mods !!

    I'm sure he was talking to Adias....

    I think the silver crest looks great, especially on the silver cars. I'm getting the silver hood crest as well
    I also like the silver crest on the airbag too....

    Not on a 997, but this is Don CapeCod's MISTY. I think this is a silver crest.

    What kills me is the QC on badges sucks

    Did you compare colors on all the different size and types of badges you can get from Porsche?

    The reds never match, they go from an orange, to a deep burgandy, to a washed out red.

    Amazes me that Porsche doesn't strictly regulate the colors of their CORPORATE SYMBOL!

    The used triple black beauty that McKenna had recently had the windows tinted, clear side markers, front holes repaired, and the silver crest. The silver crest was put on so it would match the trim rings around the headlamps more. My first impression was that it was a faded crest. At the time, I was unaware that the crest came in silver.
